Strictly METAL

yeah no shit man. i got raped by those motherfuckers last summer.

p.s. we are allowed to curse in here i guess because its the metal thread. hahaah.

I'm in. Let's do it!!

-Jim.

I am totally up for this. Heres my deal: I have a drum kit set up in my basement in Highland Park. I stay in Brooklyn with my girl during the week. I make it to HP for the weekend a couple times a month during the winter. We could play at my place or if there is a rehearsal place that we can all agree on for one night a week I am in. (except wednesday night thats when my band plays)

I would be willing to drive down once a week for something....Jorbafest coming up...that H2H thing someone else mentioned...our audience is right here.

I played in another band when I was really living in HP and we rehearsed in New Brunswick at Frankensound. Its by Jersey ave and its pretty good.
So if anyone is really interested lets just do it.

BTW Jim, I met you a few years back at HP Cyclery...I bugged you about a silly commuter bike I was interested in but never got. Glad I didn't.

As for a name...keep the suggestions coming people.😱

I would more than likely remember you if I saw you. I'm 5 minutes from either Highland Park or New Brunswick so that's not an issue for me. However, since leaving my last project, I no longer own any equipment other than a couple guitars and a 15 watt Marshall. It will be easier for me to jam with another guitar player at first to come up with stuff before renting rehearsal time😀

-Jim.

Shall we do all metal or stretch into other genres?
Originals or covers?

We should only play uber-brutal-grind-death. Having said that though, I've been playing for over 20 years have picked up a few genres along the way. Covers would be easier, originals take time to write and make band members punch each other in the face!!

"Chigger-Death-Face"

haha true. ive been playing about 20 years myself. i as well dont own anything other than my jackson now and a little tiny practice amp. the odds of a band actually happening are probably worse than being able to ride at 6 mile TODAY without studs. lol.

Holy crap.

I don't see many of these bands mentioned around here, but this is a mind-blowing lineup for me.

No way I'm gonna be able to go, but it's nice to see something happening Stateside that holds up to the Euro festivals.

Neurosis is a band who can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, but I've yet to see them. They are very high in the pantheon for me. Still kicking myself for missing those Brooklyn shows last year.

Other bands on the list I've not seen, but very much want to:

Boris
Baroness
High On Fire
Harvey Milk

Bands I have seen and want to see again:

Mastodon
Torche

Add in a bunch of others that I'm curious about, and you get the drift. Too bad I have to go to work and do all that other grownup crap, or it would be time for a road trip to Atlanta.

A potential issue with this festival is that it's supposed to be free, and you have to pick up tix from various distributors. From what I've gathered from a bit of forum browsing, it could end up being a big clusterfuck. Another thing the old guy in me has little tolerance for these days.

I've only seen Mastodon, from that list.....ass kickin bearded Georgian boys. They'll be whoopin it up in their home town.

On a lighter note....What's going on with Fear Factory these days?
