Stephens State Park Conditions

We just ignoring the gypsy/spongy moths that are going to obliterate the canopy this year? Both deciduous and coniferous.

I serviced Stephens today, operating from 4 different trailheads. First stop was the big viney mess on Blue Rock Trail from Kinney Rd. Second was near TeePee Rock from the Trestle, a rotten 18" diameter stump that finally tipped over to block the trail. Third was on Red, from the Ranger station, a chest high suspended blockage about 14" diameter. Fourth was on Fuzzy Things, from the Station road lot....which if I had known was only a few small branches 2"-4" in diameter, I might have left for riders with hand saws. As far as I know, the park is clear!

Thank you! That blockage on Blue Rock was quite significant!

Awesome work. You are greatly appreciated!

Trails were in great shape this morning (still snow on many).--I wish I could say the same for Allamuchy North (many downed trees)! The work Ed did on Blue Rock looked great! I saw one small ~4-5" tree down on Blue, but it's not chainsaw worthy. Someone can easily get that with a handsaw.
