State Park Closures AND Reopenings!

"This calls for a much more nuanced position where parks that are not being overused at certain times of the day should be available to people. Maybe certain parts of parks should be shut down but parts of parks shouldn't. There needs to be a well thought out policy before you restrict the liberties of 9 million New Jersaynans to not visit the hundreds of thousands of acres of state parks and our state forests," Weber said.

2 words that don’t go together:

Government. Nuance.

Freehold has a small loop at lake Topaneamus. The trails there are cleared of leaves & sticks and the jumps are fun. SSSSHHH! Don't tell anyone.

Only time the cops are there is for the meth heads:gangster:

Spadea went ballistic this AM - calling for almost a physical response - said petitions waste time. He wants churches open as well.
I think he’s gearing up for a Governor run next year.

Sorry did I imply they were legal !! I come from a time when 99% of what we rode on MTB's was illegal so this is nothing new for me.
That and I believe the trails up your way are still open. How is Camp Orange these days. Haven’t been there in years. Been wanting to check it out.

1500 on ventilators in nj

Murphy says parks closed due to heavy out of state license plates and park police reporting on people not following rules.

Murphy doubled down on the closure of parks during his press conference today. I really doubt there's any way they'll be reopened in the near term. He mentioned not only seeing NJ folks, but also an abundance of out-of-state plates.

No signs of closure on the Henry Hudson Trail yet, although it's a county park. Maybe they're looking the other way for the time being on that one, due to its suburban setting (folks use it to get around, not just for recreation, so it's better than forcing folks onto the shoulder of rte 36.)

😀 Yep, pull some more tape out of the warehouse.

It was pretty much a rebuff of those that were saying it wasn't based on research, fact, etc.

Well. I mean it’s not based on fact. But politics rarely falls back to facts.

Still it is what it is.

I rode the Freehold rail trail yesterday, it was closed off near the section leading to big brook park.

For now but with the limited parking if they start getting hammered that may change.

I haven't been to Camp O in years either I've heard it's in good shape though.
