SCCX Races

Some footage (and commentary) of the C race yesterday:
http://contour.com/stories/sussex-1-2010

It's not all professional like Adam's is. Just my continued effort to get comfortable pumping out vaguely entertaining videos on the laptop for when we go around the world. Sean, Utah, JDog, Joe Mundi, Little Dr. Rob, Dan Suhr, Chris26er, Ted, Jake and Joe K make appearances. Maybe others.

Norm, the commentary on this was hilarious! HAM SANDWICH!

Yes....the cheering...you need work. You need a cowbell. That takes all of the pressure off trying to find inspiring things to say.

Dang it that I can't go today! Sick as a dog, and I don't want it to get worse by standing around in the cold. I'll have to get out there, closer to home today, close to my hot shower.

Bah!

A cold! Bah I say! I wish I had just a cold. With 13+ in my class I was in tears not being able to go. Tell the truth Missy, you didn't go b/c you didn't have me to chase around! See ya at Bowdoin 😀
Note: I like making Heidi mad 😡

RC ... :getsome:

I know it doesn't make you feel better but I gave you a call up today and was wishing you were in attendance 🙂

Hope everyone liked the subtle changes that we made the second time around and had a blast. I for one liked the high speed barriers and the constant snowfall during my race. The funny part is I looked back in my data and I was only 50 seconds slower this weekend on a much more slick course. 4th place in a slightly bigger A field was great for me. I'm hoping to see a larger A field next weekend for the grand finale. Hopefully. Good racing today everyone!

My 2nd CX race. I was the guy who was screaming down the runway with 30 seconds to spare before start. The whole timing thing was not working out for me all day, but once I got started everything fell into place. I really liked the course and had much more fun than my 1st CX race.

I'd yell at you, but you wouldn't hear me with this larangitis. Don't worry, I'll save some germs to snot on you, if I can catch ya. 😀

Thanks for taking out the mud puddle for the 35+ race, I love you.

-Jim.

That was a little battle of the promoters. It was supposed to be out for the entire day but it got put back in. Either way it didn't make much difference except the fact that I have to spend lots more time cleaning my bike again...

mr pixy thanks the mud choice officials, as he won his first cross race today. 😀

Boy it was cold today!

Thanks Ryan, the Sussex races were at the top of the list. Next year.

Sticking tounge out at Heidi 😛

That mud hole sucked. Freeeezing!

This is a great course and really a super time. I did miss the Barns.

I had the most fun I can remember in a long time on a X bike. Utah and I had a ton of laughs and really just had a fun ride. It was really a great feeling to be up front. I was in 1st spot for a brief second and I had no idea what to do there. I was pretty stoked on my 4th place finish.

Sean rode very well. That dude climbs like a beast. A well earned finish.

I also want to apologize to Joe Mundi for chopping him in 1/2 as I passed him. I heard a weird noise and as I looked down I saw his front (carbon) wheel dragging on my canti. Not good. Sorry Joe. Really.

Good times! I wish all course were this fast. Thanks for putting the puddle back in for C, I hated having 10 toes anyway.

Really had a blast battling with J for a couple of laps. Good time bro! lets do it again next week.

Oh and it should have been colder 🙂

Funniest thing I heard. The downhilller knows how to climb.

It was a nice fast course. I'm hoping Horseshoe is tight and twisty and punishing. I want a handler's course not a big power course 🙂

It was odd that the mud was out for 35+ but then back in at 45+. Trombone guy said that it was taken out by an unauthorized person, whatever that means. I actually didn't mind it last week but this week it was a little tricky. Still overall I liked the flow of these races more than the others so far, granted this is my first season so I don't have a lot to judge by.

I had a pretty good race and actually never went down like so many people, but that could mean I wasn't going fast enough. Finished 13th out of I don't know. Art did catch me and pass me around mid race I think and he was riding well. It occurred to me at that moment that after like 20 something years of racing mtn bikes (not consecutively) and seeing Art on the scene that this was the first time we were ever in a race at the same time. Congrats on the win Art.
