pork roll or taylor ham

I think Taylor Ham is a North Jersey thing and anywhere below Rt78 they call it Pork Roll.

It's ordered like this ----> Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a roll .

Exactly!!! My dad would buy it from the grocery store and bring it home. The box of 9 slices said Taylor Ham bitches. :getsome:

FWIW, I grew up in North Jersey. Since the rest of NJ is slow and stupid, the 411 just hasn't made it's way south yet.

Dude you gotta change your avatar. You post too much for me to see that every damn 8 minutes.

I agree...it looks like me in the morning after too much cheese.

Pork roll...it's what I did today for my fitness.

Aww man, not the pre sliced box. You have to get the entire roll to get the full effect. And for those of you that think Taylor is the only good pork roll, you are very wrong. All I have to say is CASE, get some and :getsome:.

Are you related to my g/f?
To her family, anywhere south of I-78 is "south jersey"... until she moved to Plainsboro... then it became anywhere south of I-195...

We've gotten good pork roll from a place in Allentown, NJ... called...

(drum roll please...)

"The Pork Roll Store" 😀

Old style butcher and small grocery... they make their own bacon too... and sausages... good stuff. :drooling:

OK...anything above 78 is North Jersey...Anything between 78 an 195 is Central...Below 195 in South Jersey...I think that's a fair assessment...

IAN...Now I have somewhere to take the carnivore in-laws when they come up from South Jersey...Thanks

After thought----For towns that are on either side of these borders will either be condiered North Central or South Central (i.e. Hamilton NJ)

PORK ROLL\

According to my g/f's N.Jersey relatives, it's "north" or "south"... there is no "central"...

Or if you're from PA... it's just New Jersey... north... south... central... whatever... 🙄

And then the deli person will hit you back with, SALTPEPPERKETCHUP? One word just like that.

I always called it Pork Roll cuz I'm a central Jerz boy. A couple months ago I was in a diner in Bergen Co. and I ordered a pork roll, egg, & cheese. The waitress came back at me all snotty like and said "Oh, you mean Taylor, egg & cheese!" Whatevah honey, I'm starving here. Call it what you want. When it was ready she goes "Here's ya pawk roll" and laughed.
I love Jersey diners. Nothin' like 'em in the whole world!!! 😀

Neither!!
