now we have to figure out the kitchen flooring. we got quoted 900$ to sand off the tar, refinish and seal. or rip up and new.

looking fantastic. really nice!

how many times have you heard this:

so when you're done, you wanna come over to my place and do my bathroom next?

Considering all the trips you two have made to a home improvement store, how is it that neither has purchased a pair of knee pads?

ha, my knees are destroyed from wrecking so much on my MTB, so I usually avoid any sort of pressure on them 😛

Bathroom looks great. What happen with that one grout line? Adjusted for some reason? Those are the kind of things that drive me nuts about doing things yourself sometime. Hardly anyone notices things but you (the person who did it) notices every like thing wrong.

as with any house, walls aren't straight ours are really bad. we did the best we could with what we had!

The other option is to cut the tile crooked on the wall side, so then you have a finished edge on the tube side.

We decided to stick with the actual slab against the left wall (obviously) and work our way over, this looked the most straightnessesque. the design on the floor looked straight as well. we assume a rug, toilet and sink will make it less obvious 😛

Looking good! I think you've inspired me to re-tile my bathroom floor also. That should add another 6+ months to my timeline. Plus, my wife doesn't lay tile so it might be even longer.

Hey, you 2 want to come and do my bathroom when you're done?

This is the worst part, especially if you're super OCD.

Lets not make this "update every 3 days" thing a habit. If I don't get my email tonight I'm going to be pissed. It's 9:03 already.
Everything looks awesome.

Kevin, the line drives me nuts. But now that the grout has dried it's not as noticeable. We went with a light grey grout so it doesn't stand out as much as it did when I first grouted.

The first 3 rows were fine, and then all of a sudden we got off track somehow. The only way to keep everything straight was to deal with a slightly larger gap in that area. I kept trying to push them closer but I had to worry about 2 sides matching up (picture each square has diamonds on the left and top side) and if I moved it any closer, it didn't match with the top. So it would have thrown everything to the right off after that.

So the line is there and it isn't perfect, meh. What you guys have accomplished with no experience whatsoever is pretty freakin awesome :getsome:

Keep up the good work!
