Nice riding with you today.
How many miles on the Santa Cruz?
Which SC model is it?
Are you planning on riding it at MC?
One thing is for certain... he is a man of his word.
Wouldnt have made it without you. Thanks again!!She could use some better flat pedals too, if anyone's got some old chesters or something.
@MParkGT these will both be confidence Boosters. You did great! Keep pedalling.
You too Tom. Way to sneak up on us in the trees lol! It's the Hightower and only 68 miles on it. Yeah, I plan on taking it to MC whenever we go. I don't plan on doing any crazy DH stuff up there. Greens and some blues.
You made it through!I followed my neighbor, Brian, down the dead end trail at Huber and tried to punch thru the other end with limited success.
I got you on video crashing through the bushes like a bear!I followed my neighbor, Brian, down the dead end trail at Huber and tried to punch thru the other end with limited success.
Go in your 36 then shift to the next hardest gear and that's about what it'll feel like.Hey nerds (jk) I'm trying to figure out the difference in feel between 28t to 30t up front and tried to look up a cadence chart (not sure if thats what I should be looking at. But I wasnt sure how to set the cadence. My main concern is climbing with the 36 being my biggest cog in the back. Any links or advice for that? Thinking of running a 30 1x and eventually upgrading the rest of the drivetrain.
What will you be upgrading? If you go higher In rear to a 40/42. A 30 will be very spinny... for cadence plug in 90 and that should give you a good idea.Hey nerds (jk) I'm trying to figure out the difference in feel between 28t to 30t up front and tried to look up a cadence chart (not sure if thats what I should be looking at. Looking to possibly go to 1x11 with a 46t on the rear. I dunno. What will you be upgrading? If you go higher In rear to a 40/42. A 30 will be very spinny... for cadence plug in 90 and that should give you a good idea.

chainrings are cheap (relatively) so if a 28 will work with your current cranks, go for it. once you move the rear to 11sp, and have a 46t big cog, switch to 30 (or don't)
or find a used 11-42 and get the oneup 47T upgrade......
or upgrade the 11-36t now with wolftooth 42t and 16t replacement. i did this, and it worked great - check with @ilnadi for long term review.

edit: i think i used the oneup version - no longer available?
That's pricey. I've been running only the 28t on my 2x setup for the last couple weeks. Would love a bit more from each end, but am overall pretty happy with it. I could probably just get a chain guide to ditch the front mech and all that, but thought a 30t NW would be a better route and eliminate the need for the guide and would also be useable if/when I switch to 11spd. It's not like I couldn't use the workout anyway.
