"Official" BIYF 2016-2017 thread

I just got to Wildcat and found that my rear derailleur is broken, so I'm sure you'll be ahead of me again soon.

(maybe some day...)

Got about 1/2 way to Northfield Ave, realized I didn't have a water bottle. Had stuff to do, so I didn't want to go back to get it. Mistake. I got about 1/4 of the rest of the way up Northfield and pretty much collapsed. Walked the rest of the way up, and soft pedaled into Millburn to get water. Not an auspicious (re)start to riding/working on climbing.

Got home from visiting parents, installed new (accessory) belts in the car, and decided it was too nice not to ride. Ran inside, got dressed, and realized I hadn't eaten anything all day (1:30). Stuffed a doughnut in my mouth, ate a spoonful of peanut butter, and packed a doughnut sandwich (peanut butter, natch). Was still a little wobbly coming home, but I made it (hooray). I also did not bring enough water with me on this ride...pattern forming?

Almost dint, but couldn't not get out today.

I have the usual local loop. We all do.
It's usually about an hour or so, on good days it's getting out and avoiding traffic, on bad days it's a step above reading tax code on the trainer.
Today was somewhere in between.
It mostly parallels busy streets, but there's no avoiding interections and lights. No country roads here.

Halfway through I decided to branch off and explore alternates. While I was ahead of real rush hour, I timed it perfectly for 3p schools letting out and soccer mom rush hour (note to self- don't do that).

Anyway, I dint die.

02/09/17: Wasn't able to get out to enjoy yesterday's spring like weather, so I snuck out early this am to get some miles in before the snow builds. I'm still a bit under the weather and the 4"+ on the ground made this a very slow ride. I was seriously considering bailing as there was 2"-3" on the ground as I was leaving my house....so glad I stuck with it.

2/8: If any body I work with could manage time, I could've got in another ride on my return from Boston. But, NOOOO!

2/9: Riding around the hood in the snow. 4-6" around 9:00AM. Worked in a mix of on and off road. It was nice having very little car traffic on the road sections. I really enjoy riding during an actual snow storm
