Motivated by the facebook's Less Politics, More Bikes social media thing I took a bunch of video and pics on the way home. Got home and editted it quick and uploaded it to the internets.

6 rides...total MT of 1:07

included my daily commute from my house to train, and then my up/cross town CitiBike trek both ways...

i got trucked by a crazy homeless/drug addict on 8th avenue while i was riding in the bike lane...he was sprinting on foot across the street and started running right at me...i was thinking, "is this guy really going to run right into me?"...sure enough he runs right into me...

i started going crazy yelling at him after he ran into me, but he said he was running from someone who was trying to kill him...so i thought it best to just keep riding...and he sprinted away...what a great start to the day.

he was sort of drooling at the mouth...unfortunately i couldn't snap a picture in time, so no moving water bonus i guess?

2/3 - quick local dirt jawnt 1:04:11

Was laying in bed, smelled the brewed coffee, wondering why I was up and didn't hear the alarm. Check the phone... 5:54am.. alarm never went off at 5am. Got up, checked my front tire... flat... it was flat last night and I added more stans.. pulled the wheel, put it in the sink, leaking from the stem... tightened it.. all good. Hit the road - my drivetrain is trashed and due for replacement. Its roughly 2k on the cassette, der and chainring... time to fresh'n it up for 2017.

It was chills this am..

Was playing around and sessioning all the punchy climbs around the lake - much challenging. Several failed attempts and hike a bikes. I'm thinking we either learn to ride them or create friendlier reroutes

Stopped by the lake edge to snap a pic of the sunrise and was pleasantly greeted by an gaggle of canadian geese rising up from the lake... pretty neat.

Rode a bit of the D&L Fat Epic course west of Easton. Here is the 50 mile mark which is a restored mule barn in Freemansburg:

At the 53 mile mark is the hulking ruin of Bethlehem Steel (are those jobs coming back?) across the Lehigh River:

Just short of the 60 mile mark, there is this dam in Allentown, named after Congressman Samuel W. Frank, who sponsored the bill to place the Lehigh River in the public domain (I didn't know you could own a river before 1964!):

Then one of my best friends and I had a long lunch at Panera. Perfect.

2/3/2017: Wawayanda State Park. Conditions were even better than I hoped they would be. While snow is damn near gone everywhere around, Waway is still holding some snow. The crunchy icy under layer was covered in an inch or so of granular snow. The further into the park, the better the conditions. The snow seemed to fill gaps making normally challenging rock gardens much more manageable. I actually cleared the rock bridge on Pumphouse for maybe the 3rd time ever. Just a great ride. I really wish I had more time to stay out there.

I'm pretty sure I already got the bonus for "moving water", but here are a couple more pics to solidify it.
