Dead show tonight

Count Basie Theater, Red Bank NJ. Workingman's Dead and American Beauty note for note. This is my show and has really messed my riding schedule.😀 Over tonight and will start tomorrow getting ready for first CX race next weekend.

Should be a great show tonight. Come holler if you can.

Ok here is my pic for today.
I've overlooked this band and the amount of talent they have that spans several decades.

I am talking about none other than Sonic Youth. This song draws me in, even though there getting on in years the music they put out is not forced. They still have creative talent.

I always found Sonic Youth brilliant. I got into them around the time Goo & Dirty came out. I backtracked to their older stuff (thank you vintage vinyl)
Daydream Nation is still one on my favorite albums to listen to start to finish.
Looking at that vid I gotta ask, Does Thurston Moore ever age?

Never! and neither does Thurston Howell, Gilligans Island has been on for years but Thursty always looks the same.

Sonic Youth as a good lead in to this band...XX

For your listening pleasure I give you Crystalised. There sound can get sleepy after awhile but I do find them easy to listen to.

Oh man, hell yeah...thanks or sharing. I started listening to Sonic Youth when I was like 13. The atmospheric dissonance hooked me.

Like Mike said, Daydream Nation is still one of my favorites even today.

I remember seeing them at some festival in 1995 when Washing Machine came out....And in 1999 at the TLA. They played with Steriolab. Good shit!

Ah...brings back memories of my high school days. I think I'll listen to Goo on my way to work this morning - thanks for the music pick of the day!

Glad everyone liked the Sonic Youth selection. I'm gonna switch gears and go up tempo with Kate from Ben Folds Five.

Ben Folds has been quoted as saying that his music is punk for sissies. I can relate to that...we all can't be as hard core as Kevin.

sigh...I <3 Ben Folds...I nearly ran him down in Northamton, MA about 10 years ago before a show (SILLY ME!). I never miss him when he's in town. KUDOS!

Yeah I thought that was a misspell with Nick Hornby...I thought it was Bruce Hornsby. Than I googled it...ok got it.

Cage the Elephant is certainly MTBNJ Radio worthy.

I have been gettting a lot of requests for Christmas music here at the station but I promised these guys I'd get them on the air tonight. So I'm going to make a Substitution and feature Silversun Pickups.

These guys came onto my radar on my way home from the Tymor race early in the Summer. Even though the post race high wore off the memory of hearing them on the radio during the car ride home lives on. Now I bring them to you...enjoy. For the slower adults out there the song I want to play you is right Here.

Oh year and the bass player looks like Capers ex-squeeze.
