You guys are going flip..

This comes from a friend of a friend..

Supposedly one of the guys who hunts out there left a Deer cam on a tree somewhere for a week to see what he might see.

Rumor has is that he caught a pic of a huge cat. Not the tame king either.

I am supposed to get a copy of the pic in the next day. I am pretty stoked to see it.

Bring it to work tomorrow, I would love to see it.

So here is more related fun stuff..

I have and old friend (since 1992) that has a friend..

His friend is an avid birder. He bird watches daily. Like a freak even. He knows birds by call, by color, by sight and by poop. Really.

Anyway, this bird guy often spends time at the Sourlands park. Anyway the story goes that this guy came across a noise in the woods that he did not know. He swore it was a bird, but he could not place it. He asked some other bird experts and none could agree on the call.

He finally asked the right person and it turns out that the call is that of a COUGAR!!

This is supposedly a recent occurrence.

Anyway I got to thinking that these parks are chock full of baby deer this time of year and the picking must be easy.

True or not, this is pretty cool stuff.

Cougar, puma, panther and mountain lion are all the same cat. They can live anywhere in the Americas but rarely attack humans. Here kitty kitty!!

Recently, there was proof of a mountain lion in CT when it got run over by a car. The authorities claimed that it travelled from South Dakota so the eastern mountain lion is still declared to be extinct.

It has to be a bobcat. I'm pretty sure I saw it going into a bush when I came riding through the jaques lot about two weeks ago(and now even more sure that someone else might have seen it). I only saw the back end of it but it didnt move like a coyote. Also, you can usually see the scat here and there on the trails(looks similar to dogshit but with hairs). Very doubtful it'd be a cougar, the 6mile terrain/location is just not typical of a mountain lion but is prefect for a bobcat.

If cougar were to come back to NJ, they'd likely head for areas they used to live in like especially around Andover and the other very rocky, sloping terrain. Allamuchy, Ramapo, Waywayanda would be hotbeds.

Last week I was at Waywayanda talking with the park rangers. They had their first sighting about two weeks ago. However he said without pictures, the state won't acknowledge it.

I know the guy that put the camera out, he sent me this just now.

Thats a jcat. Rare around these parts. Unlike the mountain lion, the jcat likes flatter terrain. It's known for building mounds of dirt on trails to attract its pray, mountain bikers are common victims of this animal.

This guy just sent me a check for $300 and asked me to build a new bridge.

I thought that was pretty weird.
