Limewire Down

A strong 7
He set up an account and keeps $30 in it. At those prices, you can get a lot of music for $30. It seems to import seamlessly into iTunes, but sometimes the cover art does not come across.

The interesting thing is that music is available prior to the release dates. For example, he was able to DL the Springsteen "Promise" albums two weeks early :hmmm:

I tried dealing with torrents over the last few weeks. I was not happy with the transition.

Ive had really good luck with torrents over the last year. I dont use it a lot but what have gotten has been good. whole discography's for bands like zeppelin and the stones.

That looks really cool to me. I don't care how they get the pricing so low.

Be careful with the torrents. When you download the torrent file, you'll become a seeder and then you can be seen by spies for the record and movie companies as a supplier of that content. I got a letter from my isp for that and then it was back to usenet for me.

Hey Guys,
I don't mean to barge in and go off topic on this thread, after reading the postings here I see that most know way more about PC'c than me. I have a question about annoying "redirects" I spend most of my time on BikeReg (has little or no life) and Tommy and I get redirects on both our computers. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

RC ... :hmmm:

Use google chrome?
Security through obscurity is really the best way. I use google chrome at work and firefox beta 4 at home, both are awesome.

Has anyone tried http://www.gomusicnow.com/ ?

I know someone that has been using it and it seems to be legit, although I do not understand how the pricing is so low.

This is similar to a website from a few years ago... allofmp3.com.
Same deal, stupid cheap music. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't last forever so get what you want while you can.

Be carefull

Not too put a damper on this thread, but.... we had a kid (22 years old) at a job i used to work for, brought in his pc to work and hid it in a desk (yes it was a mini desktop) used our companies ds3 link to download movies and music, guess who got caught and is sitting in jail for 10 years...:hmmm:

Stupid thing is not one of our network engineers cught it. the MPAA did, traced it back to our company and then internal network security traced it to his desk and pc.. FBI came in took the pc and him away, it sucks the MPAA made an example out of this kid and at 22 got 10 years in jail...really stoopid they way he did it..

I used to use limewire and napster until i caught a couple of bug variants and some relly nice virusus.....

I like how they make that site look just like the Apple site :D

They give iTunes a poor rating. Is iTunes really overpriced and we should be using these foreign sites? I refuse to use iTunes because of their history of locking copies of songs and I think that paying about what it costs to get a physical CD in hand is excessive, but at the same time 9 cents a song seems cheap. Who are we to believe?

Downloading recent movies and tv shows is the easiest way to be on a watch list and you will receive a cease a desist letter.

I have been downloading some style of music daily for almost 10 years with no problems. The first time I downloaded a movie the day it cam out on DVD I got a letter from my wireless provider.

This is most likely a browser hijacker (think virus) Download and install Hijack This http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ and say do a system scan and save a log file. Copy the contents of the log file and paste it here and we can see if there is something awry. DO NOT click fix this, or fix anything or check off any boxes until we look through the list.

Hijack this is an extremely powerful program, but isn't very user friendly as far as telling automatically what is good and bad. It looks for anything that interacts with your browsers, so some is stuff you want and some is stuff that you don't want

EDIT: Also, get an anti virus, but don't pay for one. There are plenty of free antivirus programs and firewalls that perform as well or, in many cases, much better than anything offered by Semantic or McAfee

Not sure if this is it, Deezul, thanks for trying to help :) I just bought a anti virus last week. I'm now using Google Chrome as the web browser. It seemed to help at first but ...

Hehe, not quite. You want to download the exe file from the website http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/hijackthis/HijackThis.exe save it to desktop. Then go onto your desktop and open the file.

It will say something about accepting the license agreement, accept it, then clicky the top button

It should scan for a little, then pop up a notepad file with a bunch of text and numbers and code and such. Go to Edit, click Select all, then go back to edit and copy. Right click on the post you are making, click paste, and it will paste the log file. Let me know if you have any issues.
