I hate that new surface. They did 3 miles of the Paulinskill Trail, too.
Who really asked for it? Am i wrong to think some influence is because of the transplants not used to actual trails? I've seen a motorcycle take it as a shortcut so maybe it was for them.

I actually called and talked to a woman at the park to ask why they did that. She basically gave me a generic list of reasons - erosion, water runoff, etc. On the Pskill, they also widened the trail. The material they used (stone dust?) was blinding white when it first went down. It's really fine, too, so you'd sink in a bit on narrow gravel tires. I'm hoping they stop and don't ruin the rest of the trail.

The area behind the diner was always a mess after rain so i understood that and i'm honestly happy about it, but the trail from 206 to goodale i don't understand i didn't see any issues there. There's drainage on either end.

Does anyone maintain this place anymore? Few trees down last week while there. Guess the Bulldog days are over.
Whenever I’m in the area and there’s a known downed tree, I try to get to it. Unless there is a major storm such as the ice storm of 2019?, where I’ll make an effort to clear much of it. Having an ebike and saw pack now would definitely make that easier.
Aside from that, my friend who is now head of maintenance there gets to things as they are reported. Best thing to do is call the office to report downed/hazard trees.
