How is Your Winter Going?

Hi Ladies .... I just wanted to check in and see how everyone's winter is going?

I have been riding the road on warm days and riding the mountain bike on the colder days. The conditions have been outstanding. I joined back up at the gym, but I have only been once since the weather has been so nice 😱.

Let's hear what you have been doing. Maybe we can inspire some more ladies to get out and ride. Spring will be here before we know it 🙂

During the week, I'm trying to get in whatever activity I can - whether it's a brisk walk, cardio/weights or trainer workout. Weekends I've been on the road - I've had a personal goal of trying new routes and roads - and I've been able to stick to it!

While I'm sad I haven't gotten any skiing/snowboarding in, I'm happy to be out on the bike and lucky with the weather/temps!

Except for the one week where I had a killer sore throat, I have been riding 5 and 6 days a week. It helps to have a supportive hubby who rides with me. If the weather is bad, and therefore bad to ride the trails (or the road), we hit a paved bike path instead.

What a great winter it's been. My life is a mad juggle of a million things. I do realize that i'm in overdrive at home in order to steal some bike time up during the week, though.😛 I've been doing a bit of road, a bit of Mt. and a bit of the gym (kick box) My rides are never long enough though, and they suck the energy out of me. I think if I knew i could go home and sack out on the couch I'd push myself more, but I can't. My weekend time is limited unless i pay a sitter.
I am jonesing to get together with my biker chicks....😉

I'm jealous of all of you! I'm recovering from tendon release surgery in my right arm. So after a great week of riding in Moab over the holidays, I've been off the bike since the first week in January. Only getting on treadmill and trainer with hikes on the weekends. Should be released from restrictions this week and I can't wait. Its been rough seeing everyone out riding and posting pictures. Hiking just isn't quite the same. But I will be riding this weekend, for sure.

Glad to see all you ladies are still kicking butt in the winter!

I've started working at GoRyde Indoor Cycling Studio a few weeks ago so that's been getting me up at 5am on Mondays, forcing me to work out. I have off Mondays from my real life job, but work crazy shifts the rest of the week. I used to just do house stuff all day so it's been a nice push for me.

Speaking of my crazy shifts...I try and commute to work whenever the weather is nice and have been riding at night. Then getting out on the road or in the woods on the weekends for the longer rides.

I'm definitely riding a lot more this winter then last with this awesome weather, but probably not putting in the hours most of you ladies are! Youre all motivation for me, so thanks! 🙂

Took time off from riding to heal pulled hamstring ouch!
Substituted downhill skiiing/spin managed a trip to Zermatt/Verbier - wonderful!
Just starting to ride again after 4 months off
Registered for the Super 6 pack today!

Sorry to hear of all the injuries. Heal up quick!

Winter? I don't feel like we've even seen winter yet.
I've been riding as much as last year and have been more active in the gym and the pool and hiking and having tons of fun.

Just putting pennies in the jar. Wow, having an infant makes you really value when you can get out on the bike, even for an hour! I'm thankful the weather has been cooperative. I only wish more folks lived nearby so I didn't have to ride alone all the time.

Decided not to do Battenkill, it's just too hard to get out on the bike for more than 2 hours at this point. And I guess my field is full so that decision was a little easier.

It hardly seems like winter this week... I went out to Allamuchy today and after 10 mins, had to stop and take off my pants!! Yes, yes, I had shorts underneath....Absolutely beautiful day. I wonder if March will go out like a lion this year.

I was hoping for a good ski season.. .. but that ain't happening! It's been a great "riding" winter, however, I haven't done any.
I started skiing before I got the OK from the doc regarding my elbow, but it doesn't bother me on the snow...
However, I tried riding a few days ago and while it felt great to be back on in the saddle... my arm got very sore and stiff. And this was a rail trail. It also made me realize how out of "riding shape" I have become!
Hopefully the new bike gets all setup in the next week or two and I can start hitting some of the easier stuff and building up the strength!

A little snow treat up at Jungle today with the girls. Great to see so many chicks in search of gnar, gnar. ....Awesome ride!

Alley gearing up for some gnar.
