H2O #3 Darkhorse Dryoff Thread

just wanted to let everyone know that pictures are now up and the rest are being put up now. www.fullframepro.com thanks to all that came out to race in the swamp

Brybry57, is the finishing photos for the Cat 2 in order?? This page in particular.

I swear I caught 342 up that hill and 2 other guys that were not in my class, they might have called out his number to the person making notes before he got to the line. I didnt protest at the time because in the score sheet he's like 4 min in front, so i thought I was just halucinating 😕 that should move him to 8th instead of 6th, they moved him in front of 2 racers that finished ahead of him.
And where is 358??? i see him leading the race in the pic galleries in 1st and 2nd lap but he's nowhere to be found in the score sheet. Thats screwed up!

the pictures are set to be arranged by date taken , you can also click the photo info button and it says the time the picture was taken

also take note that I do not think I adjusted the time on my camera so the exact time itself may be off the the intervals in between shots are NOT

I saw this car today. Maybe it's headed to Stewart? 😉

I've got it again. Anyone else? ....or is it always me.

I was wondering when the poison ivy thread would start. I have a couple spots from Stewart, nothing bad... another guy from our team is terribly susceptible and has got it bad. He was talking about the oils and being in the air and in the puddles - guess he can't even stand NEXT to the plant!

Awesome, Thanks! im just concerned about the order of finish. Thanks, it looks like I was correct, got him by a few seconds. Now to my other question, where did 358 finish? he's 4th in this page between 341 and 343 in the 2nd lap.

Im surprised he never stayed around to protest either. 😕 DNF?
I just hope this gets corrected after the fact.

Take a look at this pic from the first lap which looks like his chain is broke. I think he had a mechanical and the second pic you mention is really just his first lap.

As far as results, it doesn't mater now. See rule #17: Results protests must be made during the fifteen (15) minute protest period upon the completion of the race. Protests should be submitted in a calm and mature manner. Waiting until you get home to check the results on the Internet is too late.

Prevention?

I don't know if this would work for anybody else, but, when I come home and take my post-race shower, I Technu my legs to get off the itchys before they have a shot to seep in. I know Technu isn't the cheapest stuff out there so many probably wait to see some symptoms first before going out and buying a tube.

I wipe down with rubbing alcohol before I get in the shower.

That's good advise. I usually do that, but I forgot this time, and got spots on my calves.

I assumed incorrectly that even though I touched no plant life whatsoever that I would be safe. I am guessing the stuff was in the mud?

What? no instant replay? 😀 I know the rules, its just cool to be able to look back into these things with all the media available after the race, like in this case, I wasnt sure and the time difference in the result sheet was way off so i let it go thinking it i was wrong and when I saw the pics I reacted. Its all good!
Poiso Ivy? what poison ivy? i was protected with an inch layer of mud this time, last yr i got some and the yr before.

What do you think this is Oreo, LM2008 when you had to prove you'd finished days after the race had finished? 😀

edit: I believe the oil from the poison ivy can be in the mud and even when dead it can last on the plant for a long time.

The urushiol oil in PI most certainly gets into the dirt and mud around the plant, and if you're sensitive to it, you can get a reaction without ever touching a plant. I've gotten some PI reaction on my ankles before from trailwork, despite wearing boots and long pants- in bench cutting trail, the dirt covered my feet and got into my boots and must have worked through the socks, and had enough oil in it to cause a reaction. Not fun.

One thing that's worked pretty well for me is Body Shop glycerin soap. Tecnu works well, as does the Cortaid PI scrub, but those are both pretty expensive treatments (I've used both quite a bit). Body Shop glycerin soap is $3/bar and has worked pretty well for me when I shower immediately after potential contact...
