Since when? We do this all the time on the older models. I thought I did it with the 530 before but perhaps not.

0-for-3 laptops for me. Fuck the Internets.
my cable expired last year, so I switched to equipment that uses USB-C to avoid that in the future.@Norm - I'm coming to you from the future. It's the USB cable. Try a different one.

Me two, twice...what are the chances...c’mon man!Great, I just finished Everesting...🙁
Fake news. Server error but data device file system is accessible. S**t I'm late to the party, again! BTW, true story in the 2xeversting. Did it on race track in Ringwood. It may have been more than double as I lost count at some point...so garmin disabled exploring the device - same reason they don't use the cloud to avoid their systems being hijacked.
i haven't even tried to start breaking stuff yet.
Just a friendly FYI, don't assume a cable is rated for data transmission. Cables that come with/used to come with phone chargers didn't necessarily have the data pins on the USB hooked up. Ditto for the cables that come with rechargeable lights.
The latter is a big one that I've seen people struggle with in shops.
