Conditions?

Got to dial in the SS a bit today at six mile while leading some beginners.

I think I saw you - I was on the black Jet 9.

I was having a great ride until I got tired and lost concentration at the first gully after going from White back onto Red... landed on my bad shoulder... then sort of limped the rest of the way down Red to the car... Oh well... you ride mtn bikes and once in awhile you're gonna fall.

Conditions are awesome and the new trail work looks great! 🙂

I can't believe I've been in this area since 2001 and only started riding here in 2009. 🙄

Just got home from a 3 hour ride, and I do not remember the last time the trails were this perfect. Thanks for all the work J, (and accomplices).😀

Yeah man...6MR doesn't get much better. Everyone I passed on the trails was wearing a big smile.

Pat and I and a few other friends will have the tandems there on Monday. 6 mile and Allaire are 2 of the best places we ride.So well maintained and tandem fun and friendly. A big "thank you" to JDog for all the time and effort at 6 mile.

Just got back from canal side. Besides a dozen or so small puddles conditions are good. If it stays dry tonight tomorrow will be even better.

We spent about 4 hours there today with 3 other tandems. The trails had a few puddles early on but in 2 hours time were nearly perfect. One note, the first bridge after the split on Blue from Canal Rd, the cross slats on the bridge were loose although they did have nails in them. The front of the tandem went over OK but Pat did a half gainer into the creek, taking the tandem with her, as the rear wheel enters more to one side. All is well, no one was hurt and no problems but thought JDog might want to know. Awesome job maintaining the place, trails were perfect. Its too bad we only get to ride there a few times during the summer.

Thanks Ed. Glad you are both OK.

We were there ourselves today. Got there about 11 (Canal side) and only did half the park (guests arriving at home in afternoon). Sorry we missed you as we would have enjoyed riding with you guys for a bit.

We found the park to be mostly in good shape with puddles here and there, but I was having some trouble with wet off camber roots - slammed my knuckles into a tree when the front wheel skipped along a root. Not a big deal and we still had a great ride.

We must have just missed each other as we also started from Canal Rd around 11. Sorry we missed each other. OUCH! on the knuckles.

Took a ride this morning at 6:00am from Rt 27 to S. Middlebush.
There was some mud and a couple actual puddles to contend with.

Hopefully the sun today will dry it out quickly.

It's amazing the temp difference from when in the woods to when not. When I pulled out and up unto the parking lot after the ride, it was like hitting a wall of heat. 😱

did the full loop from 27 side, about 5pm last night...canal side was drier....worst was the slime in the twisties corners, which slowed it down a lot....but I would suspect today will dry that out. I hear ya on the heat, it got to me big time...good thing I had a couple of New Castle Brown Ales stowed away in my cooler when I got done....

Rode this trail for the 1st time this morning, had a blast even though I got lost for about fifteen minutes. Props to Jdog and his volunteers for all of their hard work on maintaining these trails.

canal to SMBR was great, the puddles cleared up from sunday, just some slick corners. I also have to say the new long marsh bridge is really cool with all the weeds growing around it.

Small problem @ 6pm (noticed on ride last Thursday).

One of the low bridges (it was a low board crossing almost down in the stream, bypassing a higher wood bridge) The low bridge had lost a few boards at the leading edge which almost tossed a few riders into the slop (myself, going at a good clip, included). I think it was On the red trail.

Take the high bridge, there's something really fun about it!

x2, I feel that the lower bridge is actually harder than the bridge that is to the left. I do like the little log roll over feature on the right line though!
