Commuting

Tomorrow will be my first day commutng to work (12 miles each way). I have convinced about 8 of my co-workers to join me. Maybe this will start a trend...🙂

good job Brian once you start to get use to it you will hate those days when your part of the rat race...

That's awesome! One of the guys at work figured if I can do it, he could too. Now he's riding in more often than me and saving himself a bundle on bus and train fares. His commute by bike is actually shorter than by mass transit and makes him a lot happier too. 🙂

My commute is 26 miles one way and it's not easy to fit between kid drop off and starting time. When all goes well, it's fantastic, but when it doesn't it's a bag of stress. When I do get to ride in I consider it a bonus but since it's a real time commitment it doesn't happen every day.

Saw a couple of MTBNJ'ers on the bridge this morning

Who dat?
I couldn't chat- was running late-

Denver Broncos and MTBNJ have the same team colors.
I never meant to suggest I saw anything interesting on the commute in.

Are you suggesting we're not interesting?!?!

My guess is that it was RU. Was there more than 1? If so, it was likely Craig Morton.

Your confusing me with norm, I wait till I get home for my TB's thank you.

It was me and falcon on the bridge this morning. He joined me for the ride in and was planning to do some laps in the park after I split off to head to work. Next time say Hi 🙂

Chris gotta get you on the riverside dr. In better elevation both ways

Wow. I am not good at internet.
First I confuse Soundz, then I offend the Mayor and the team. 😉

Chris- I figured that might be you rocking the pannier,
but couldn't do more than shout a "hey"-
I was aiming to be showered and at my desk at 8,
and I still have an hour of elapsed time ahead of me after the bridge.

Matty- I might join you for a riverside tour.
My city riding has been limited to the greenways- wouldn't mind knowing some options for heading downtown.

Yeah that was me with the pannier. Rob had the fantastically coordinated sunglasses and helmet. I'm going to venture a guess and say you didn't offend anyone, so no worries there.

Matty- I've been lazy lately but should be riding in most if not all of next week. Its nice that the south walk is back to being open. It was awesome out this morning. Shoot me a text if you want to meet at the bridge one morning, i've been going through around 6:45 lately.

No doubt- smiley added.

If you guys roll next Wed I may be able to join.
I'll check in Monday or Tuesday.

I picked up Riverside Drive going north at 116th today and rode it up to 165th. It was terrible. Seems like it would be a solid choice maybe at early hours or weekends, but after 5:30 is was an insane 2 lane highway with cars, delivery trucks, and buses randomly stopped right in the middle of the right lane. That, along with being lined with parked cars on the side makes it a death trap for sure, and I'm not too shy about riding the city streets.

I def prefer jumping off the Greenway at 158 and going up 158>Riverside Drive>Up 165>Fort Washington>Bridge. This is the best climb out I have found so far.

The wide ass side walks along riverside would probably be awesome in the winter to get out of the wind. I doubt anyone would bother you.

Yeah I think I mentioned that to you where I ate a bumper after clipping the mirrors of a parked and driver. No go going home. Early in and weekends, you'll start to notice it's the veterans choice.
