soundz i did 180's singing jimmy hat songs in your driveway but you never appeared. I can make many excuses why i haven't been on the grid but damn I haven't been on a bike since the BS50. Today was an eye opener with 5+ on weight and off I feel like I have taken 10 steps backwards. Thank god for some DHing sunday cause I feel lame. So how you do strava when DHing 😀

I know I would have taken some extreme measure if I found the tires on the lawn 😀

I gotta get my ass in gear as well .. my Strava is seriously lacking hours.

Hey Soundz let your neighbor dog walkers know I am on to them with the tire pissing, I will be putting out a bowl of anti freeze for them in the future 😀

Holy shizz was that the most interesting commute out. To date I cant think of any day where I needed to check my bibs. I check daily before i leave at the national weather to see whats up. Yes I saw 4pm storms but hey they are mostly wrong right? I been always dry in ok wet out ok well got more then I bargained for for real. When got outside today it was game on. Lighting strikes every where. OK turn the earbuds all the way up and pedal. No matter how loud music was each strike vibrated through the bike. Driving rain all the way up river rd. dr. cause no way I was exposing myself to the open greenway. I think i hustled so fast that I managed to beat the Hats (SOUNDZ) weather report whats happening in his hood. By the time I got to Washington Heights it was dry. All I could keep thinking was getting across that damn bridge before getting hit. Lighting is a scary mofo when riding. Luckily as I crossed the light show was hitting midtown. Funny I only saw 3 riders in the whole stretch where on a regular day it would have been 20 plus...

IN THE END it was FUN!

Rode in with Matty this morning for the 1st time in forever. He showed me Riverside Drive route in.

ChrisRU, it is the fastest way in. The is a park to your right, so you don't have to worry about lights other than pedestrians and dogs. Did you take it on the way back to NJ? I can see how that would suck, but Riverside is best option going from uptown to 72nd street if you wanna get there fast.

Btw, the 72nd entrance to the greenway is re-opened.

Good to know because I get yelled at for the 67th entrance because of a sign that says dismount your bike which I do but ride on my pedal down. Park cop tells me I am breaking the law. I say how it doesn't say walk just dismount to which he knows I am right. Maybe they will change signs in NY because of me 😀 that would be cool.

I'm going to be joining you soon Matty. With the lanes shut down after the GW traffic is going to be a nightmare. I just put together a spare laptop to leave at the jobsite and I'll order another set of work boots to leave there and I'll just leave some clothes there too and ride in. I'm on East 110th street. Haven't been there really in 2 months but the job is about to kick back up again. Plagued by furloughs, wtf unions.. ;P

Yikes today's ride in I decided to roll Harlem. As always you catch a rider and the little cat and mouse thing sticks. Take turns on the lead and as we were cruising down grade at close to 30 mph some yahoo decides to pull a u turn. Guy in front went into a skid pulled sideways and slammed the car. Bounced about 10ft off. I swerved opposite side and swung in front of car to prevent driver from taking off. Hung with rider for while checked out his bike which chain stay and seat stay both were cracked. Bunch of people then came to aid and driver claimed he never saw for real me in bright orange and him flora green. Any way driver stayed and I gave rider my info in case statement was needed. Rider is fine but scraps and bruises. What's screwed up is I called him 1 1/2 later and still no cops showed.

Ayy ayy ayy! Glad to hear you and the other guy are OK. BTW, I'm not taking my road bike out until you show me around 🙂

Well I didn't come of my commute unscathed yesterday. It was only a matter of time that a collision would happen on the greenway and so it did. As I do everyday bob and weave up river at a good 20+ some dumbass comes in to greenway totally oblivious without looking either way. I thought for sure he was gonna look then stop. I then at last second tried to hit an inside path which in turn dumbass then notices me and turns right into me. I slam DA without breaking and scream fuuuuu@@@. I basically through my shoulder into him and sent him flying. I did the old tuck and roll thanks DHing. Arm gashed from his handlebars and a bruise but otherwise bike and me came out unscathed. No incidents this AM. Yesterday maybe should have been a bus day.

Damn Matty- that's an eventful commute you had yesterday.
Good thinking to block in that driver, just in case.
You should work north of the bridge, there's nothing and nobody on the paths up there.
Hope your ride home is drama free.
