Does anyone know the distance per lap for Sunday's H2H race at Blue Mtn?
For some reason this race already has me concerned. Last year when I raced one lap in the beginner class it was a tough course, I was happy to cross the finish line ... drained :drooling: This year it's 2 laps for Sport Women. I'm not worried about the tech stuff, just the climbs and the distance. I need to just finish and most likely will be 5th overall in the H2H final standings. I missed 2 races because of breaking my collarbone at Stewart, I may have finished 4th overall if it weren't for Dirt Points :hmmm: Anyway, good luck to anyone who is racing this Sunday and any info on the miles would appreciated,

RogerRacer clocked it at 8.2 miles on his computer. I believe there's somewhere between 1400 and 1600 feet of vert per lap.

That's correct...just over 8 miles per lap. Last year's race had 4 miles more I believe, so that's why the beginner lap went on forever. I prerode 2 laps this past weekend and they still dragged on forever, but it's no worse than what we've already done. It's going to seem so long because I simply cannot wait to be done with the final race!!! See you there!

I rode it yesterday and it is an awesome course. I do not keep track of mileage, only smileage :). Someone mentioned 7 something, but to be honest, I don't pay attention to that stuff.

The course is different than last year, and a bit shorter. It also seemed to have less noticable climbing, maybe because it was fun rolling stuff. You still go up Ned's, but get some sweet singletrack before you face that. Plus a few short steep single track climbs at the end.

It should be a good one!!

If I could get up there 5ish on Saturday would course be marked and would there be enough daylight to do it at a getting-to-know-the-place pace? Once, maybe twice.
thanks

Thanks

Thanks Jamie, Mare and Ellen. So 8.4 miles per lap, it may not be as bad as one poster had said last week. With maybe less climbing than last year as Pixy mentioned :drooling:

Thanks guys,

Nice map, are you a GIS specialist? What software do you run? That doesn't look like any out of the box ESRI symbology or callouts

I went the wrong way a couple times on the first lap. Second lap was a medium warm pace; 7.8 miles with 1200 ft climbing and 1200 ft of descending;).

The trails were slick and tricky on Sunday. I'm figuring a good expert pace will should get you in around 55 minutes or better. Long race no matter how you cut it. Looks to be super fun to ride when dry, though. And the weather is looking good.:D

They're all good! ....but Blue has lots of cool rock and more flow, and I would give it the highest rating for a race course. It even rides well with a SS.

Hello:

Can anyone give me the maps.google.com address so I can find the exact directions. This will be my first time to go there for the race. Thanks in advance.
