I feel like like they gave us so much, but nothing at all. I don't know how they're going to wrap this up in 1 hour.
I was really shocked to see Gretchen and Elliott again. It makes sense, though -- no better way to realistically awaken Walt's megalomania. That's just brilliant writing by Gilligan to bring them back into the picture. At this point, I think a lot of the gaps have been filled in and there is only a few major questions remaining. The major plot points that were filled in:
First, all along we've been assuming that the Aryans or some other group out to get Walt were the ones who trashed his house and wrote Heisenberg on the wall, but it turns out it's so much simpler than that -- it was the the same kids you see skateboarding in the pool who just did it as run of the mill vandallism on a condemned house. And it makes sense since now everyone knows Walt was Heisenberg (sh*t -- even Charlie Rose refers to him as Heisenberg!)
Second, we now know where Skyler is during that teaser scene when Walt shows up at the house. She's living in a cheap apartment trying to make ends meet working part-time.
Third, we know that the Aryans weren't stupid and were planning on getting out of the drug trade once they had Walt's money, but Todd (who was described perfectly by Jesse on the tape he made for Hank -- the dead-eyed psycho comment -- that's so spot on) wants to stay close to Lydia.
Anyway, as I see it, the main questions now are:
(1) Will Walt kill Jesse when he goes back to kill the Aryans?
(2) Is he even going back to kill the Aryans? Or did that interview set him off and now he's going to try to kill Elliott and Gretchen?
(3) What ultimately becomes of Jesse? Suicide? Can he escape? Does he even want to?
And they have an hour and a half or so next week to sew it all up. Wow.
