24-25 Ski and Snowboard Thread

I forgot to post these when I got back from Stowe earlier this month. The tail end of Feb and early March were very good. We didn't get any big storms but had a few days where there was a 3-6" of new.

this open area is found after doing some traversing - the snow was still in great condition. It gets a lot thicker but with all the snow it was like skiing a pump track.

These 2 shots show you never know until you go.

Typical Saturday and the parking lots were full, the lift line was a zoo and the trails were packed. I was skiing solo and kept to the woods to get away from the people. By mid-day the weather changed to thick clouds, windy and snowing. Trails started clearing and I was able to farm the sides of the main runs with low visibility and very good snow. Around 2:30 I explored some side gladed areas as the main trails were getting a little tracked and there was 3" of new in those fun areas my youngest and I found days before. The day went from meh to yeah!

Gave up an amazing Saturday at home to sneak in another weekend on skis. Okemo this past weekend was a mess. Saturday only lower mtn fixed grip chairs ran with snow, sleet and freezing rain. Sunday the resort started on an hour delay and then was closed for the day just before 9am due to ice, downed trees and branches on lifts and trails. Today only 2 chairs (A-Quad and Sachem) and 2 carpets are open.

Killington still dealing with same issues and more power outages.

Two more weekends available. See how it goes.

Renewed my Ikon pass today before prices go up April 17. Looks like Windham has gone full hoity-toity (as we suspected it would). No more Ikon; well heeled dues-paying members only. 👎 On the flip side, a few more resorts added in 🇺🇸, 🇨🇦 and 🇪🇺 👍

Man,

I'm still hoping to maybe go to snowbird the first week of May, but they may not happen. Looks like I may have missed a great year. I'll have to make it up, but doing some extra mountain bike trips!

I don't suppose there are any Dead Heads here who are interested in a pair of Grateful Dead skis. They're K2 skis with design by Lunatic Fringe with the Steal Your Face (Roses and skeleton) design? I bought them many years ago in Utah to replace the pair I brought out there to ski on that busted. I've skied most of the Rockies on them and I've even skied the Swiss Alps on those puppies and got a lot of interesting looks. If anyone is interested I'll post pics.

Been awhile since Superstar looked like this in April. Almost 60 degrees today, beat the rain and covered most the open terrain today. Think this might be it for this season.

I'd love to hang them in the shop

I can use a rear wheel, want to barter? If you saw my post I busted the Stans rear hub on my hardtail this past Wednesday and I need a 29" boost. HG or MS, 6-bolt or Center Lock. If you have one laying around the shop we can do a swap.
