2022 31/31 Ride daily for bragging rights and a reward. TM / Jorba / MtbNJ /

I don't remember either. I pulled off because a rider was gaining on me (he had a Cognition jersey) ... then I saw 2 guys after the long bridge on Blue.
For the first time in my career I putting the heat on someone in the woods! That was me in the Cognition jersey.

I saw passed the two guys somewhere too, ended up seeing them in the Jacques Parking Lot when I wrapped up.

10/20 - Whoa... we're half way there...

(edit - this ride was on July 11, not 12 as indicated in the chart - sorry for the confusion - I'll add the ride day in future posts).

I was kinda hoping my legs would feel better, but alas they did not.

One of the oddest boats I've seen at the marina. It almost looks like a converted PT boat.

When riding along the river, it's interesting to see remnants of old docks at low tide. You can just see the beams and the planks in the mud, although it was more visible on Sat when the tide was lower.

Today's ride will probably be similar, although there's a chance it'll be a wet one so it'll be a last minute decision on whether or not I feel like getting wet.

Chimney Rock Fun Monday - afternoon solo edition.

Something always seems to "break" when I ride CR chunk. Today, I lost 1 cleat bolt, about 1/2 way thru the ride. Unfortunately, I could not clip in, as the cleat with a single bolt would twist after I removed my foot to stop to pull out my phone to see where I was, and where I needed to go.

I might have to get a Garmin. I was considering Hammerhead, but it is apparently no longer compatible with the new Shimano Di2 12-speed on my new road bike.

Day 4: Tunnel Ridge with a Skills with Phil Sighting

I suppose the title of this ride kinda gives away who we saw on the ride today. But for those who are here for things other than the suspense, I will talk a bit more about it. As the days add up and we get closer to the KT house, our number grows. Day 1 was 5, yesterday 6, and today 9. A few years ago one of the guys at a Killington bike shop told me I should check out Rochester. I filed it away as something to keep in mind, but left it there for a while. 2 years later, I saw an Instagram post from LD Trailworks about a 5 mile trail that they just finished. Then @chemgirl said she rode there and I set this as our agenda for the day.

The trail is basically 5 miles out, then 5 miles back. And you ride about 2.5 miles to get to it. So in all it is a 15 mile round trip. You go up 1700 feet, down 1000, turn around and go up 1000 feet, then down 1700. The last downhill has like 101 berms and is nothing short of an amazing build.

At the top of the first climb we met up with Phil from Skills with Phil. We talked to him there, then at the bottom at the furthest point, then back at the top, then back at the car when we were done. Pretty easy going dude, very friendly.

The ride was awesome. Not sure I would do this every day if I lived here (spoiler alert: I would not). But it was a great day for a great ride.
