Decided to take the day off work to spend money at Halter's and ride 6MR:

It's been a while since I've had a good Six Mile Tan:

Hot and dusty today. And definitely avoid these trails if you get poison ivy easily. Seems like it was everywhere. Definitely wasn't my fastest 6MR loop as my legs felt like lead for most of the ride.

Thanks Frank. Can we get a ride in withint the next few days? I will come down your way.
Love the idea!!!! As long as you can tolerate my slowish pace as I recover. We should open it up to others in this challenge so we can meet and get to know one another. It would accomplish 2 things…we could encourage each other AND bust each other’s stones and make posts more interesting.

Day 1: Fridays are for the Rock

This is our 3rd solid day in a row on the bike, 2nd on the mountain bike (Six Mile last night). D and I did a late afternoon CR ride from the ballfields, meeting Kirt 10-or-so minutes into the ride. This is sort of the kicking off of our vacation, the next 10 days will be mountain bike riding of some sort. Today will be the only day not in Vermont, which is a pretty awesome statement of things to come. This is always 1 of our favorite times of the year. We'll do 4 nights in the Rutland area and then 4 in Burke.

It's always good to ride with friends, today being no exception. Of course, riding with one's wife gives you a chance to ride with a friend every day. But the more the merrier. Last night it was 10 people at 6MR. I know, last night doesn't count in this. Today was just the 3 of us, but it was just as good a ride for conversation. We had a nice Friday late afternoon spin. Now we're home and packing for a road trip that kicks off tomorrow.

As we were gearing up to go, the winds kicked up and a sand storm more or less blew across the fields. I took this picture real quick before we got eaten by it.
