Day 5: Killington and a Spot of Rain
My title betrays me again. And thus the mystery is lost. We are up to 11 now, 10 of us made it today and Jim went his own way, as seen above. Regardless of where we went, we all got rained on. We got in 2 hours dry, then things started to open up and we dropped 1-by-1. D and I were in the last 4, then we called it quits and Utah & Zac rounded out the day. Trails were amazing, like always. Unfortunately, as I was hitting my stride, the rain started to come down and we started mixing in pauses between runs. Eventually we gave up and by 3:00 we were heading back to town.
First interesting note was on a lift with a stranger, who made the comment that we had a big crew. Then he said, "Hey which of you guys posts the funny stuff?" in reference to the races. Now mind you, the guy said he was from Syracuse so we were a bit surprised he knew who we were. He then said he once signed up for a race but it got cancelled due to the snow. So then I said, "You mean Norm?" He replied, "Yeah!" Funny world.
Then someone walked up to me later and said, "Hey we did the Fun Monday ride together a few weeks ago." That was JPark. Small world, in addition to it being funny.
Tomorrow we move on to the Kingdom.
