2021 Pro Gravity Schedule

Both Brendog and Kade were at Audi 9's last weekend (along with Kaos). I do think Brendan is more focused on his free-riding these days than on racing.
I'm not really sure what Brendog is focused on. To me he's gotten really lucky with his fame and is riding it well. I do like him and got to meet him in NJ back in the day when he rode for iron horse.

Kade has those technical slopestyle skills that I was surprised to see. Kaos is more a darkfest and hardline guy and brendog those two and rampage right? Brendog was close to a WC podium last year i think so some days he's still got the race skillz.

Btw dak qualified 11th 3 seconds back and shaw 13th 4 secnds back. So tight. Anyones race.

I was about to say the same but I wasn't 100% if those were the specific skills that @NJ-XC-Justin was talking about. I'm a huge fan of Brendan Brendan Fairclough but as I mentioned earlier he's stretching between too many specialties to be at the very top on any, at least that is my opinion. None of this multi-specialties athletes seem to dominate any when competing (that I know f, but I am happy to be proven wrong), or not at the same time at least. Maes dominates Enduro, but is middle of the pack in DH. Maybe Ed Masters to a point, between Enduro and DH...It's probably a sound choice, making yourself visible to the largest possible number of people partecipating in multiple specialties.
PFP for one. Feel how you want about her, she wins in cyclocross, XC, and road. Yolanda in XC and a top contender in cross. Harriet Harnden, the girl just won an EWS, and can run top ten in XC as well. Yeah, these are all female examples, but why does that matter ? Mitch Ropelato has stood on the podium in pretty much any discipline he's competed. Same for Jill Kintner. Jack Moir, dude was a top level DH racer, and is killing it on the EWS this season. And...ahhh..Sam Hill ? Remember that guy ? Totally agree with your mention of Eddie Masters for sure. Now i'll give you that some of my examples might not all have been competing in all the mentioned disciplines at the same time, ( though some have ). I think the biggest difference between the guys you mentioned, the folks I mentioned, are that guys like Brenden, Kaos, and Kade, have a second discipline that is more " trick " focused, than " race " focused".

Personally, i think since the day and age of social media as a vehicle for self marketing, and producing income has emerged, many of these athletes have discovered they can have more fun, with more freedom, by following that path, than be stuck following the strict routines and hard core discipline required of a full time racer.

Yep. See ratboy as exhibit A.

Sam Hill obviously came to mind, but I did not mentioned him because of this...XC is not really on my radar, I didn't even know that the athletes you mentioned were doubling on cyclocross.

1000% and what I was hinting in my last sentence.

Yep. See ratboy as exhibit A.
I can't watch him anymore, while I can appreciate the difficulty and work that goes into doing tricks with your bike it just doesn't resonate with me as much as DH. I do enjoy Danny MacAskill and Chris Akrigg's edit every now and then though, but they seem a little bit more refined and less 'juvenile' in nature...

I did appreciate Ratboy's walking away from energy beverages sponsorship, and I realize my own hypocrisy in watching the DH WC on RedBull.tv

only English people can say this, it is like you mentioning Red Bull and the mandolin at last weeks race (read with sarcasm)
Eh, I'm a linguistic mess, between my accent and the words I pick up from my British wife...now let me go back watch the race on the telly, for f**k sake!

P.S. thanks for the sarcasm disclaimer, looks like I'm misreading into posts a lot lately...

Buffering on the last rider competing for the win?!?!? WTF RedBull ? I want my money back!
yeah... that was frustrating.

Still - what a race! We knew the times would be close and we were not disappointed.

Good run by Dakota!

Damn Frenchies...

Was everyone else audio on red bull totally messed up? Warners voice was incoherent for me.

But what a race. Shame about brendog and shaw. Dak getting better every race. Frenchies reclaim their throne after England temporarily booted them off.

Isn’t it always? I think it was ok for me. I’m also thinking Jackson is getting better on the race comment, Claudio was a little too much for me.

Spoiler without spoilers! Subtle! But yes, 100% phenomenal race! I also enjoyed the women’s.

My roku was acting up. Ree bull was fine I realize.

But you know who would do better than both Claudio and Eliot? Me! Not joking I'd love that gig and Claudio was annoying and elliot is too quiet and not famous enough to warrant having. LOL. But yes Eliot is getting better and I love his track talk but he's just not a real co-broadcaster in my view.

Btw the women's race was fun to watch but showcased again how the women are nowhere near as deep while the men are getting deeper every year. Nothing new i know but to see 4th place 8 seconds back and 9th place 17 seconds back for the women is never not crazy. Men had 6th place 1.7s back and 13 riders within 3.5s. Nuts.

I beg to differ . I like the fact that Elliot is calm , and Rob is well.....Rob ...lol !! It's a good cop bad cop kind thing. While I like Claudio, sometimes when they both get yelling it's a bit much, and I find Elliot well spoken, and easy to understand. I also notice that Rob doesn't take jabs at Elliot or Tracy, like he does at Claudio, which to me, gets old after awhile. I think adding Elliot and Tracy was the way to go. Also like the girl they have at the finish line now. For me..they have it dialed with this team.

I get that as two rob warners would be overkill lol. But eliott desperately needs to speak up when doing the race commentary -- inliterally can't hear him sometimes. Tracy i also really like but again I think may be more of a track specialist and interviewer than 2nd race commentator. But its their first year and I'm sure they'll get better. Bart in XCO i think does the best job as the more monotone and measured balance to rob than Claudio and eliot thus far.

You ever watch a side race like hardline or crankworx when rob isn't the normal guy but he's available and they so they bring him in just for color and within 5 minutes he's dominating it lol.

I like Bart as well for XCO. With a bit more experience under his belt I think Elliot will be a similar complement to Rob, like Bart is. He is a bit soft spoken, but I dont really have any problem hearing or understanding him during the telecasts.

@Ian F - did you get tix for snowshoe? I booked the hotel last year but just realized I never booked the tickets. At MSA I never had to get tickets as we just walked from the hotel to the track, but I guess that's not the case at snowshoe?

Also are you still definitely brining your bike? I almost wonder how much I want to ride when I'm only there Friday 4pm through Sunday morning.
