Post your BooBoo's

Sherry, he could fall off the couch while he's watching tv too! Okay maybe not, but at least you were out doing something with him. Maybe it's better that it happened during summer break so the school doesn't investigate.....😛

Here is the carnage from the Rock last Thursday. They are starting to finally heal up but they still look pretty gnarly, especially my left forearm. Although I am still having fun at the bar chasing my friends around screeming "Blood...Gonna Put It On You!!! Put It On You!!!!"

And Just For Fun A Pic Of The Belt Buckle Which Has Sustained Some Injuries Of It's Own. I.E. Missing Rinestones

These aren't bad, but they are my 6 yr old's first mountain bike boo boos! I brought him for a ride last Friday on what I think is the southern portion of the Columbia Trail (between Clinton and Pittstown). It is flat, a very few rocks, roots and bridges, but in places it has about a 12 foot drop-off down to a stream. He was doing great for about 20 mins but got a little nervous once we hit the area with the drop-off. He kept looking at the stream and I kept telling him "look where you want to go, not where you don't want to go." Next thing I knew he took a hard left and steered right off the cliff. Completely endo'd off the cliff. If a grown adult did it half our bones would be broken! He fell about 12 feet bouncing like a doll. I wish I had a picture of his bike completely submerged under water in the middle of the stream. He was soaking wet, bruised and banged, I think it knocked the wind out of him, it was horrible. But he's a trooper. He even rode his bike half of the way back to the car. Mother-of-the-year🙄.

Your kid is gonna be f*in awesome.

Madness- make the belt buckle your avatar!

I figured this would be a good thread to ask, being that we're talking about our boo-boos .
How many of you are wearing body protection besides a helmet and gloves ?

I'm wearing shin protectors , but that's really for my 50/50 crank brothers pedals.

I'm routinely bashing up my knees and elbows. I've got a nice golfball size knot on my knee from that big rock at the Tourne. I just had to do hit it 3 or 4 times last night and the 4th time I tumbled and must have smashed my knee pretty hard.

I'd rather not get all armored up, I prefer to ride with less , not more.

thoughts ????

i ride with knee/shin guards always. Ive sustained way too many blows to my knees and shins. Ive already had surgery on my left knee, and i need more scope surgery on the right one. From years or skating i mashed my shins up pretty badly and since i ride on platforms, when you miss the pedal or your foot comes off and the other pedal comes around whacks your shin and them lil screw ends stick into your shin its not fun at all. So i always wear them. I wish i actually thought to take pictures of my injuries so i could post some. From now on i shall do so.

All my most painful injuries tend to be invisible. I am nursing bruised ribs and at least a strained wrist from a crash practicing the winham super D. I didn't get any major visble damage, but I am pretty jacked up, and limited to the trainer at least until my wrist is better, and then still suck on the road bike for a while, I'm guessing.

Man that is nasty.

Here is the recent hand injury as it is now, didn't get a photo before cast when on but it was ugly. Both joints of the thumb. Tomorrow this cast gets off and if xray shows improvement will go to some kind of removable brace. If worthy will post a photo "post" cast.

The one day I don't, I have an epic crash wearing my little spandex underpants.

Sharing the love

Brothers and sisters, went to the doc this morning and got off the temporary cast that I had to wear for this past week after the getting the fiberglass one off and it looks like I have avoided the much commonly needed surgury for this injury. (I'm knocking on wood). I can't get back into the woods for another 3 weeks until I get clearance for the next doc visit, but they made me up a little removable protective thing that I can wear on my hand so that I can get back on the road bike. (I didn't have the balls to tell them that I never got off the road bike and I have been doing over 100 miles a week on average in addition to trail running with the cast on). But at least now I have their blessing!
It looks like if things continue as they have I should be back in action for RIngwood.🙂
Here is an image of the breaks as I know you guys like this stuff although this is not nearly as hairy as most of the other posts.

Little Kitty can scratch

Wow this is weird that I was the last to post here last year and the result from the same place. This was a 2 rounder with this place as I prerode on Friday and hit my forearm on a rock and that still is swollen. During the race I got launched on a downhill to finish off the damage. Fortunately even though I landed on the arm again it was not in the same exact spot or that would have been really painful. I raised some eyebrows at the town pool yesterday after the race though.
