For what it's worth if you are in that area there's an awesome road climb you turn off Somerset up Johnston Drive. Used to be called "13 bumps". Many years and pounds ago I did it on a steel framed track bike with 39/15 gearing in seven minutes and thirty three seconds (number forever burned into my brain by pain). You come out on top of the ridge overlooking rt 22.
.
Yes, the 13 bumps...under each bump a witch is buried.
I remember in HS hitting my head on the roof of my buddies car as he flew down those bumps. The pavement is a lot smoother these days on that road, it used to be a disaster.
Also I've spent many a road ride with the Cranford bike team charging up that climb.

Back in high school, a friend driving his parents 1972 Dodge van 'cased' one of the bumps at around 50mph. Got out of control and side swiped a mail box that was built like a brick sh*t house. Entire side of the van smashed, I was picking glass out of my chest and arms for a week.

My parents went to Sears every friggin weekend. If I wasn't getting in trouble hiding from my mom in the clothes racks, I was standing there staring at that painting.

My Aunt worked at that Sears when I was a kid, I agree that painting is amazing, glad I'm not the only one who was amazed by it. Still miss the Roy Rogers that was just up the road from it.

Well that'll get yer adrenaline flowing. Watch out for a big brown dog off leash. "She never did that before."

Holy crap, you okay? I see unleased dogs there a lot but since I like dogs they're cool. Or maybe I was just lucky so far...

The shot in my ass from medimerge hurts more than the bite. Never had a problem with a dog before. First time for everything. Dog just ran up to me. Looked friendly enough till it jumped at my leg. Too late by then. By the time the owner arrived I was swinging my 27+ wheels in the dogs face.

It would be great if everyone who would like to do some trail maintenance at the Watchung Reservation could be at the Newman’s Lane parking lot Saturday 4/30/16 at 9am for the initial trail maintenance of the season.

If you are there, you will learn from the true professionals, Kirt, HighTech Landscaping and the MTBNJ crew. Bring water to drink and sturdy boots. Also, bring your MTB and ride the Rock after work.

Indeed.

You guys should come work on trails where it's legal to ride & build & fix. And Gary has never been bitten there.

Fuck Sears. Caldor was the shit.

And I think that tgi Fridays was the first one ever. (Not really but it's been there for ever )

I remember that caldor! Also there was a theatre where I watched my first r movie...
btw, how come the areas across 78 aren't shown on the official trasil map? Are they part of Watchung or what?
