There are some things I find true about people in the context of "trying to get things done". I've run 20+ races at 5 different venues so I'm saying this with some level of experience.

1. People are afraid to say yes when a process has not started.
2. People are afraid to say no when a process is in place.

These 2 things summarize almost all political & process-oriented things. If you've ever had any involvement with an event or movement you know how true these 2 things are.

Oddly this whole discussion falls in this gray area between the 2 points. Ken is asking, actually begging, please don't give someone a reason to firmly assert lines 1 or 2 above.

Let me put it this way. They may have taken the No Biking signs down but I'll bet you $1 they didn't throw them away.

I will gather all of the emails I have received since this landed in my lap and be in touch this week, thank you everyone. If my tone has been anything other than pro, my bad. MTB advocacy has been dealt some blows in and around our region recently and it has me a bit frustrated.

I just want to reiterate, JORBA's only iron in this fire is to support a local chapter if the county takes us up on the offer. There are many additional benefits if that happens, but our primary concern is playing nice with all of the stakeholders and helping enhance a really great bunch of trails.

Ken, I'd also like to stay informed on the status of Watchung Reservation. Please add me to the email list.

Ken, just so you know, we totally get it, and seriously, thank you for your advocacy! We all know that this wouldn't even be a possibility without JORBA and everyone else's hard work.

And a suggestion to Admin to close this thread and hopefully avoid further public postings.

just a heads up there is one "no bikes" sign at the entrance near the deserted village. Noticed this while walking the dog.

Thanks Ken.
To RXPXSKIER - yeh I found out about that one from someone else last week (never seen it myself as I avoid deserted village). It's a larger sign with a bunch of other stuff on it from the pic i saw, they probably didn't take it down for that reason.

I haven't seen any 'no motos' signs, so they must be legal there now...

Not the first time...But no helmet...idiot.
I was going to yell at the kid but when I looked at him he looked like a stupid dog...besides that scooter was so underpowered with his large body Woody and I could walk faster through the woods then he could ride that kick and go. We just laughed. It kinda reminded me of myself back in the day of unsupervised entertainment.

Never seen that here, but one time last year at lewis morris I came out onto a road crossing (from "patriot's path" singletrack/doubletrack section) and two cops hailed me to ask if I'd seen some bloke on a motorized dirtbike. (I hadn't). People are strange.
