We had our team meeting this past weekend and this is how 2015 shakes out right now, for Team MTBNJ & the Race Promotion Machine:
Short Track Series
Currently we are set on having a 4 race "series" at the Allamuchy BSA on the following dates. Note that these are all Sundays this year:
March 1
March 8
March 15
--empty weekend--
March 29
The 4th weekend in March is not available to us. So we'll be doing weekends 1/2/3 and 5. We have also discussed the possibility of extending the ST races into April as an alternate for those people who want to keep doing short, local races. The April weekends could possibly be Saturday or Sunday. Additional details TBD.
The Stewart 45
Sunday, July 19th.
Yes, you read that right. We're changing the format of the Six Pack to a 45 mile race. The team thinks that change is good in this regard, and it's high time to shake things up a bit. Notes on that:
1. We will have 3 laps of 15 miles each
2. Teams: hey, you'll have to figure it out
3. This allows those people doing W101 a tune-up
4. This race length allows more intermediate/beginner types to try a longer race.
5. This also allows some truly mixed teams a better format, where a fast partner can do 2 laps and a slower friend can just bite off 1.
We're working on the logistics of everything right now. More details to come.
Cross Race
It's on the RADAR, too soon to say anything of note. Plus, technically, cross from last year is still going today so really, don't ask about cross just yet.
