Electricity is actually a discovery, not an invention (said the nitpicking d-bag.) 😀

When I move into my new place, I'm going to start a new thread. This would be a great title for it. We'll see.
I'm not sure that something that comes from the sky (inviting all nitpickers to hit that one) and obliterates anything in it's path is the same sort of discovery as, say, the West Indies. Well, the Ciguayos might not actually agree with that sort of "discovery" either.
So where was I?
Saturday & Sunday
I don't even know anymore. I have to admit it's all becoming a blur at this point, as I go from point A to B to C and back and in various order.
Some facts:
* Bill lost power somewhere in there to make it 3 places with no power
* Once Nat & Julia took off for Seattle, I moved in here
* Gas in Bloomsbury early Sunday morning had zero line
* I drank some red wine this weekend
* I got a dining room table from Woody
* I had my first beer in the new place with Woody
* I'm slowly moving stuff in from the house
* Most of my junk is in the basement
* I have a lot of junk
* Bill got power back, I think yesterday
* I can finally connect to work
* They still told us to stay home
* I saw utility trucks out there today, I'm actually somewhat optimistic
* I've been riding the trainer at the end of the day
* I have a full tank of diesel and something like 14 gallons of gas
Normalcy
There is a sense of normalcy that you lose with all of this. Given nothing else, I really don't mind that much. But I know...know, it will come down to when the boss(es) get sick of hearing it. I got on the call today and it was just like, "Ok, week is over, let's go like nothing happened." Meanwhile, downtown is still like a war zone and there's no heat in the buildings.
Whatever, I knew that was going to be the way it goes. They're pretty relaxed overall so I can't complain. I more or less got a free week last week to deal with this stuff so I guess I need to bring it back up to speed this week.
My hands smell like gas. What's normal about that?
Bikes
I feel like this almost acts as the end of the race season. I have a race this weekend, the thought of which is almost laughable. I guess you never know what happens in the next few days but driving down to MD seems like a real long shot. Maybe it's time to start going low & slow already and just enjoy myself.
Or maybe not.
Bikes are almost all in the new place. Once I get power I'll get the riding going again. I'm excited about it.
Normapalooza
Thanks to Carson for the title.
Hoping to be able to do 11/17 for those of you in the know. It obviously got bagged this past weekend because of something or other minor that I can't remember. Anyway, we'll get there. It would have been a questionable idea anyway, since this packing is way more difficult than I had thought.
I need couches. Well, I have couches, but then need to be cleaned up and moved in. Hopefully soon. I guess I should ask Bill if he wants to do that tonight. But then I need to head up and do some major cleaning.
Power
High Gear is back in business. I'm optimistic this is the real thing. Ride the wave! Let's get everyone back on the grid!
Mad Style
This is the kind of awesomeness you can expect from the new pad. The people will flock from miles around to be seen here:
