Pokes are ok, got one yesterday after the great Pumphouse flat tire section. Plugged it and was on my way. At that point Dusty, Mitch and myself were sitting mid pack and we didn't even break a sweat.

I've got to look back when I picked them up. Sidewalls were way to thin compared to regular Ignitors. Hell I still have an original on my Paragon, sans plugs.

Top it off I found another tube in my car this morning. I'd have pushed my luck with an insurance tube.

Nice work VTC crew, sorry to hear about your flats Gordon/TJ.

My set of ignitors exos have now gone 120+ miles this season just in waywayanda alone, trouble free. Cant compain, they were 575 grams each on my food scale...but judging by my wasteline, that scale could be off 🙂

I got these off of something like halfprice.com or mycousinsfriendcanget. com. Live and learn.

I also went out on 3 chainring bolts, with a can and a half of air and one tube.

I'm about due for a public C-punch or at least a sanity check.

You look to be mid sandwich here Gordon:

Missing the turn let me see part of the leaders race unfold. Shortly after I saw Roger on the side of the trail fixing his bike (I think it was early in lap 2) I was riding up a fire road...I looked back and saw him coming up HARD. I thought "this is what it's like being swam down by a shark" then I let my rear wheel slide off into a rut fumbled around before I gave up and just stood there looking like the biggest chump in the world....what a zilch

I don't remember you looking like a chump. You just looked like you were out having a blast cruising around the course with the other SS guy. Thanks for letting be by. I was out to try and make up for a ton of lost time. I didn't want to pack it in since I came to race. Thanks again for your encouragement along the way.

What I'm learning in theses races is that no matter what the level of completion may be, everybody is out having fun. I have no problem letting anyone pass me and for most racers that I hear coming I give them the pass ASAP. I have always gotten thank yous and words of encouragement from almost everybody. It was actually kool getting chicked a few times. Those girls are FN good and always have something nice to say.. And I know Dustin your kidding when you say you looked like a chump. And Roger, nice work out there, with all your bike issues and stuff you still only missed out winning by 2 min. and beat me buy almost an hour and and half. Thats crazy. Must be the bike!

Yes indeed. Nothing like shoveling food into your face at an aid station. I was hoping I'd look a little more ridiculous. This pic is actually pretty good, if only I'd gotten the other half in there before the shutter fell...

Hey Guys,

Just want to check in from the Tour of Switzerland. I had a great ride today, finishing sixth. Man, Cancellara is really strong! He put 20 seconds into me! But I'll crush him on the climbs MF. It's Klodi I'm worried the most about. S a D.

Sorry to hear about some of the bad luck in the Bearscat for you guys. I saw the VP. CAE, and Treasurer riding together for a time on the first lap and I was hoping they could have worked together. No more Bontrager tires!

Anyway, I'll keep updating from the Tour de Suisse.

PS- Thanks to the Treasurer for the VTC bonus, you are too generous!

Hey guys,

Checking in from the Tour De Suisse. Felt pretty good today but not great. I finished a few minutes off the pace. Levi was climbing well and that skinny dork Andy Schleck crapped in his hand at that bottom of the climb and then threw it at me so it slowed me down. (I'm thinking that the less weight he had because of that Luxemburger Crap might have sped him up too, less weight.

Anyway, I'll keep flying the VTC flag in hopes of making Garmin's tour team. If that douche Vaughters doesn't put me in it's gonna be an old-fashioned LW Blanket Party on that MF.

S a D and Good Night.

ooooohhhhhh, I know this one.

Vernon Training Crew... but thats the only acronym I know, I'll be damned if i can figure out the other stuff.

Is there like a special decoder I can get in a cereal box?

Nice work last week at BS50, that was great times.

Norm, tommy d is tom danielson, a pro from team garmin. Tour de suisse is on tonight on vs. Check it out, he's sitting around 20th place trying to make the team for the tour. Not sure if its the real guy or a vtc playing his role

TD,

You have to bring down your anger levels and save it for the climbs like we talked about. If you can't keep it down I'll have to talk to the board about some type of suspension for your action. We at VTC (Vernon Training Camp) have an image to up hold (not much of one, but still an image). Get it together man!

Good times indeed Iggy. Good seeing you out there. We had some misfortunes, but man, what a great race.

Hey Tom,
Way to represent at the Tour De Suisse. I've heard stories about both the Schlecks hurling dung in the peloton. George Hincapie wrote in his blog last year about having to throw out a couple of his jerseys after being splattered. They must have been cross bred with monkeys.
You deserve to be in the TDF this year, but I don't advocate the use of violence, even if Vaughters is a raging douche. Good luck this week!

Prez- you're right!it's just that I have been trying to make the tour team for so long! And for those skeptics, this is the real Tommy D! Some of you may forget that I grew up in Connecticut and met Roger and Tj at the jack rabbit run in '95. In fact, it was those guys- the original vtc members- who inspired me to go pro! Yeah, Tommy d is in the house, and he's here to stay.

Or the ability to see the IP address one posts from?

Is it really rocket science to see why I have to frown on this? You get new guys showing up on the board reading this, then thinking the style is ok anywhere else on the board. Then I gotta deal with crap about how we aren't serious enough.

Like I said to someone else this morning: if you get a leak in your roof which happens to drain right into your toilet, you still gotta fix the leak in the roof or it's just going to go to pot from there.

Just sayin'. 🙂
