white clay

did 9 miles today, down by the church and up to the skills trail....cold but alot of fun

Just saw this thread and I didn't read all the replies, so this might have been mentioned already. But here's a little insider info for anyone who wants to ride at White Clay/Middle Run: if you can, try to park at Middle Run. Two reasons:

(1.) It doesn't cost anything year round. In Delaware, parking at state parks costs something like $6 or something like that between March and November. White Clay is a state park, but Middle Run is a county park, so it's free to park there. The trail system is the same -- the best trails of the two are connected.

(2.) While the two systems are connected through the same trails, the "best" of the system is right off of the Middle Run parking area (the Lenape Trail and it's direct connections.)

And one last piece of info: if you go, make sure you hit it all! The trail system is flowy and fast and about as technical as a cheese sandwich, so you can do a lot of miles without killing yourself. It's worth it!

White Clay is a total blast. I can't wait to get back there. Awesome flow. Just incredible.

A local from the board says they got an inch yesterday. Me and my crew are headed down in 20min. One/all of us will post trail condition when we get back

As of 9am this morning, the trails are nice and crunchy. Lots of tracks already down. Enjoy the snow while it lasts. Careful around some corners, There are some hidden ice patches.

I say ride in the morning because of the freeze and thaw going on. Lots o' mud. All the trails have compacted snow on them. Come down and enjoy.

Probably some of the best snow conditions I've ever rode...Mandi and Sheryl were very lucky to have a day like today for their first snow rides. Colin lead a good ride Luke thanks for sweeping.

Anybody know what the trails at WC/MR are like right now? Going stir crazy and looking for a place to ride today.

Trails at White Clay are closed for the week for hunting. Middle Run and Judge Morris are open. From what I've heard, it's ridable, but slow going. I was at Fair Hill all afternoon today and I've never gone sideways so much. Fun as hell.

Anyone know if the trails are rideable at Middle Run right now? I'd be looking to go around 11:00 or so.

11 is probably the worst time you could pick. And it looks like it rained down there 2 times this week. One being yesterday. But there are 2-3 locals that will let you know what's up
