thurs: i started out going for a ride but four minutes into it on a freshly paved road my rear derailleur exploded. thankfully i was only about a little more than a mile from the house. i returned home and blew out a three mile run.

today: did the ride i was planning on doing yesterday, just added a couple more hills into the mix. i also had a bear run in front of me which was new. deer, sure. ground hogs, yup. even turtles. never a bear, not on the road.

tomorrow is probably gonna be a medium run and sunday i'm getting all bfatt'd up.

Nice! I've had that happen once before, and quite close. A bit startling when it happened, but it is pretty cool. You are lucky to have roads to ride on through wildlife areas. My one bobcat spotting was on the road as well.

Friday I did a road ride up into Congers and saw a white kind of furry looking chicken is the only way I could describe it on the side of the road. It was on the opposite side that I was on or I would have got a pic. Really weird looking.

yesterday i did what i refer to as my 'walmart' run, a 5.3 mile loop by my house which, not so oddly, passes by walmart. banged that out in record time, a tick under 42 minutes.

today i wanted to mtb with mattyb and the crew but my son didn't get the memo and was up all night. instead i put in two hours on the road. did an out and back on berkshire valley from my house up to rte 23. i should have stopped at tim's for some coffee.

After a day of drinking too much beer I decided to get up extra early to beat the rain and do a quick ride. Got out a bit before 5 forgot to turn the GPS for a quarter of a mile. My goal was to have a nice easy ride, so I threw it in a low gear and just spun it for a while, when I ride during the day every cyclist I see I try and chase down even if it's a hybrid so I always end up mashing from the start. Today made it easy as I was the only one on the road.

Once I pulled into sandy hook I hopped on the bike path and just had a ball. Tight swoopy turns with a light on a roadbike felt like I was carving single track I had a doofy smirk on the whole time. The only downside is if I get raped and killed out there no one would know till sunrise and it got creepy at times. Good thing I don't shave my legs 🙂 It eventually started to pee on me from the heavens so I cut the right short instead of looping around huber and then making it into a big loop instead of an out and back. Saw one guy on the way bike, gave me a hardy hello that I reciprocated.

i didn't beat the rain today but i don't have a bike so it don't much matter. i was up for a run anyway. i did my 4 mile loop (ok, it's like 3.94) in 29 minutes. at 7:25/mile, that's moving pretty good for a fat kid like me.

lots of running this week since my roadie has been in the shop and i don't have three hours to burn getting to/from the trails right now.

yesterday: a 5.35 mile run
today: a 4.5 mile run

hopefully tomorrow i can get into the woods...but it's not looking promising as it's halloween. maybe sunday, who knows, but the rain is looking like it may wash that out.

Beat the crap out of myself trying to keep up with the new team. 52 miles with a TT in the middle. It was good to see my strengths really held up against theirs, but my weakness(climbing) really smacked me around bad.
Well, at least there's someplace to go... up🙄.

I can't breathe... where's my freaking inhaler?

Did a nice mid afternoon ride with a couple local roadies. 40+ miles, 17.3mph average. Nice to throw these rides in while the weather is still good, hoping to keep this going through the winter.

I got a chance to head out today for my first post new baby ride. Nothing crazy, just some quick miles at 6 Miles.

Met Mattybfat at Deer Park this morning for a tour. Its nice to ride big boy trails up north, nice mix of elevation, rocks & log overs. We covered Deer & Stephens, close to 20mi. of pedaling through the leaves. Relaxed pace but I was feeling it toward the end, not use to riding & climbing that long....wahhhhhh
You know Matt is a local...his go to bag contained a spare tube and a tin of skoal. Good ride Matt & thanks for tour...I'll be back😀
