H2O #3 Darkhorse Dryoff Thread

pretty much every person that came by me yelled "no brakes!"
haha
i guess the mud jams up the brakes and you just cook them after a while.

i saw a few ghetto bmxers doing the old shove your foot behind your seat into the rear tire trick. i rode like that for years because my brakes never worked on my POS bmx bikes 🙂

my problem today was the same one i had a blue last year. steam from my body kept fogging up my pictures!

One of the first times I can remember that my biking (not motocross) gear was too dirty to throw in the washing machine. Unlike many, I did not loose my brakes, rather they would not stop working. My rear was hanging up BADLY. I thought I felt REALLY tired during the last lap, now I know why. The mud was so caked behind the pads, the were not releasing. My derail. was also getting stuck in 2-1 and I was worried that it was going to break, or cause my chain to break. So the last lap, I did not do too much shifting. Im happy that I was able to get 4th.

tim thinks im a slacker

2 placed 2 showed from MTBNJ.com today...brandon got pics. I woke up today and though "intercourse or race course"...Fun stuff. I lost front brake and I'm absoulutly 100% sure the unicorn jersey kept me out of first.

Does anybody know who the photographer in the purple tshirt was? they were at the top of a small hill and i rode a wheelie all the way up and past him/her and i heard 5 or 6 shots fired from the camera. I MUST have those pics!

How about these:

I meant 2 placed 2 showed *cat3* mtbnj.com. I also noticed the water down the raocks kinda showed you the line... I made it up mostly everything, except 2-3 greeeeeezy short hills near the end. Noticed when people came out clean-ish it meant the ate shit into the water on that last bridge

I took some video clips of the cat 2's. I'll try to publish them tomorrow. Good ride today 🙂, lots-o cleaning. It's past AARP bed time,... time for

The mud people!

Shots I took at the top of the fireroad climb.

My assistant got a small series of you doing a single speed wheelie on a bridge hah I was laughing when I looked at it and then I checked this !!
I'll have all pics up by tomorrow night I am doing the search by number feature so don't throw out them muddy plates yet

Wow, that was FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything was going well when .....................I broke another chain, still did ok and did NOT DNF!

Props once again go out to Darkhorse as it was put together very well as always! On the other hand for me it was a very frustrating race. I opted for the SS just to take it easy on my race bike in those conditions which was a great choice. I was a little over geared 32/18 - and found my self going from last in the prelogue to about 5th or 6th at the end of lap 1. I held it and was gaining on lap 2 when my brakes went in lap 3. A couple of spills and high speed dismounts made me just have to relax, slow down and be cautious - I HATE being cautious... So one by one I had to pull over and let my competition slip by. Going all the way back to 14th of 20. It was a learning experience for sure...

Muddy muddy mess. Had alot of fun yesterday. I was cruising in 4th in 19-29 up until I somehow destroyed the side was of my rear tire about what I now found out was 3/4 to the finish. Had to do the walk of shame to finish line with a DNF. Darkhorse put on an awesome event yesterday great to see so many people from the site did so well in their races yesterday. I'll post a couple of the podium pictures from cat 3. My facebook pages has the pictures that my wife took from the Cat3 starts and some finishes. Great way to spend fathers day 😀 now back to work.

5 Cat3's that I know from this site placed yesterday very nice work out there yall!
