Is natures jims bridge in this years race?
I demand a link
So the white trail is still in the course? I thought it was out. We are talking about the teachie singletrack that followed the super steep little singletrack climb after the lake in the original direction, right?
I have to admit, the course as I understood it did not knock me out. There was way too much fire road, and the new singletrack felt like bunny slope stuff that requires no skill to clean. If I was wrong about the white trail being taken out, than it will be better than I thought, although I was disapointed that we don't get to ride down that switchback climb that has been tormenting us for years. I will come back and eat my words if it turns out to be more fun in a competitive context. It is my understanding that the Ringwood race is also going to be hosted by the same folks that took over this race? I sure hope that race doesn't get sanitised, especially now that there is some super sweet new singletrack there that I would love to see in the race.
The wooden bridge in the beginning? Probably the one place I DIDN'T fall.We all saw the vid of last years race going over the bridge funny as hell unless you were the guy that got shoved into the drink.
If you come out of this race feeling like you are still fresh you simply didn't race hard enough.
Sounds like it's gonna be fun😀 Waywayanda is a cool place and has a pretty well-rounded mix of sections. Like GraveYardMan said, not a walk-in-the-park roadie course like Tymor or Stewart. Albeit Tymor and Stewart are my 2 favorite races:hmmm:
-Jim.
To re-iterate for some of the naysayers. This course is not hard to ride if you have good skills in the rocks and yeah there are some fire roads (double track). When you start talking about racing and pushing your limits the trails become entirely different animals. This course will be tough at a race pace. My advice is to keep your head screwed on straight, don't get frustrated in the tech sections and make up your time in the final 2/3 of the course.

Great interpretation. That's my plan too.
Let see if I stick to it. Somehow when every race takes off at the start I feel obligated to get in front. This strategy seldom works (for me).

It seems like the most consistant advice for this race is to keep your head screwed on straight, I have a hard enough time doing that on a work day!😀
Due to the lovely pollen, looks like this is the first Wayway Race i'm going to miss. Great way to start the season, hope I don't miss anymore or else i'm out.
