Cranks Around the Campfire Mountain Biking Festival

Got the email to sign up for clinics and group rides. All filled already 🙁 Is there a wait list just in case (or did I miss it)? I'd really like an intermediate clinic and a ride with Jeff. I saw the request for people to remove themselves from one if they doubled up with the clinics, so hopefully something will open up.

Saw 2-3 people that were signed up for every clinic/ride. Very unfortunate.

so i thought all that stuff was sign up when you get there. i don't think i got an email with a registration link. i also admit i've been super busy at work and i just might not have seen it. i might have signed up for a lenosky ride but i think i have other stuff i need to do at cranks anyway.

@iman29 in my experience, when you are there, ask your questions. There is always someone willing to lead people around, someone looking for the same thing you are that you can pair up with, and there were maps of the parks there. It’s a lot easier to get the lay of the land looking at a big map than smaller sections that you’d likely see on here. However, you can also download loops for sure. I think you pay for strava, right? If so, I’m sure we can all chime in and tell you some loops to download from people you follow.

Final comment…what @Reggie said…you’re only on the road for a very short time crossing over to Stephens.
Though it’s a rather short ride from the camp to Stephens keep in mind it can potential add an additional 2-3 miles to any mileage you actually do in Stephens. It’s not much but the ride back into the camp can be a bit rough after a long(ish) ride.

Don't tell him that! 😂 It's a nice surprise at the end. @iman29 , you are a roadie. You can squeeze out a little extra on the road. The kids, well, I want to say the same, but I also want them to come back.

Im familiar with the area in general and also the road into the camp itself. Just dont want to try and tackle too much with the boy while he's got some renewed interest to the point he gets wiped out too soon and can't wait to leave.

The general plan is to try out the marked camp loop first with just me and him and see how he likes it. Then we can decide if we want to try something more and there will be enough people around that I know personally (or maybe via this forum) to meet up with and do some additional exploring.

Does anyone have info on the Demo loop? I saw a reference to Pie Plate Loop but couldn't find that on trailforks. Thanks!

Follow the plates.

Was thinking about this.

Re riding an owning a loop may be more rewarding than getting in new trails. The short track loop in both directions is fun.

Yeah I will at least load that loop up on the Garmin. We can always take the fire road all the way down if he’s tired for the last section that climbs up across. In fact that may be more fun for me too. 🤪

One final question from me: I've checked but can't find when the demo bikes begin. Does anyone know when that starts or when the bikes are available?
BTW - I'm pretty excited about this event; planning to finalize my new bike target (to replace the one that was stolen) after some test rides tomorrow.
