Yeah, there needs to be consequences, and the monetary damages she caused is very high, but bankrupting someone over a stupid mistake doesn’t feel right either.

A proper penalty would be lengthy stint of community service. Maybe have to help set up barriers at every stage of next years TdF.

You see him in all the CX races and even at the classics and you come away with the impression that he’s some sort of emotionless cyborg assassin or something. Even when he wins (which is constantly) it’s more of expression of relief it’s over than joy. Well, I’m not ashamed to say I teared up during the full interview.

seriously though, something needs to be done to deter people. This wasn’t the normal elbow over the barrier while taking a selfie. A sign two feet into the road is just idiotic.

At the very least this woman needs a good public shaming, but at the end of the day Americans don’t have a monopoly on stupid behavior. She just wanted to say hi to Omi & Opi but was apparently unaware that a freakin’ huge peloton of bikes going 30mph was right behind the moto with the camera….

GT finished with a separated shoulder. Saw the replay, still not 100% sure what made him hit the deck.

During the NBC replay on YouTube, they mentioned there was some sort of speed bump just before GT hit the deck. Roll guessed maybe a slight bit of inattention - hand slips off the bars - down he went. And then collected riders behind him. During the replay his teammates ahead of him looked confused, "GT down? Wha? How??"
They need to adjust the throttle on his bike maybe? This is the 3rd fall this year where his hand just slipped the bar.

That’s because it’s HIS fault. Chris Horner’s “Butterfly Effect” show had a whole breakdown of the series of uncharacteristic mistakes he made leading up-to and including the crash.
Lance's pod cast was saying how much of an animal Sagan is, Falls like that at 45 mph and just bounces up.
Anyways, old boy wins AND is in green. Amazing.
