Winter rides

So now that winter is here I would love to do a ride or two on the weekends and take the time to explore the parks of NJ. Problem is I don't know the trails at these parks because I haven't ridden there 🙂 . A short list of these parks are Allamuchy, Ringwood, Way way, tourne, and I have ridden Allaire once.

If anyone will be free to go out with me and show me around a bit that would be awesome and appreciated! We can even get a group ride going also if more people want to come. I figured each week I would pick a park and go for a ride.

All you need to do is PM me when you want a tour of Allaire. 🙂

All you have to do is ride to allaire on any given sub freezing day in the winter and there will be plenty of people to show you around.

on a related note: Isn't this the time of year when the MTBNJ group rides start up again? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Yeah I think there's usually some sort of Pain Train that congregates down at Allaire every weekend. Sometimes Hartshorne. Hey we could do that Brian Loop.

The loop of doom from the Hartshorne thread? I don't think it exists. But I'll be down to try and find it.

I own a map. Maybe a compass. He used a sundial to time himself right?

me, reggiehammonds and JohneeOxford ride mooch, deer park and stephens pretty much every weekend. More then willing to show somebody new around.

I found it.

Relaying on my orientation merit badge days as a boy scout and the fact that I speak jive helped me piece this together.

I would be willing to play Sacagawea for the tour...but I refuse to wear high heals and a dress.

the gurlz know our way around Deer Park and Stephens quite well. Still learning Mooch myself, but we can play with the GPS and hope for the best 😀

Ally - can you ever ride midweek? I am pretty much with the family on weekends, but I could give a tour of Waway midweek sometime. ( Not sure if there is hunting midweek, that would be something to check on I suppose.)

Firearm ends Saturday in Waway. I'll be back on the bike in the woods soon enough.

Great post here. Riding with friends in winter is much more fun and can be great motivation to get you outside on cold days.

I can lead at Ringwood, Blue, Allaire, Skyline and Waway, on weekends starting around Christmas and weekdays starting next Monday. I am also open to leading road rides through Harriman if it is over 35 degrees and you can handle pixy pace (14-15 mph in hills).

Feel free to PM me for weekdays.
