What have you done to your bike today?

Finally used my homemade chain whip. Salvaged an older wheel, put on a new cassette and disk brake, fiddled with gear tuning. This is the road setup for my cross bike. Burning in the brakes this afternoon.
Also washed and waxed the tup tube. There's a little glitter in the paint, and its the only area where I pay attention to it. Not sure if it makes me faster, but I do feel *sparkly*

Put my Arch wheelset, xx1 cassette, new rotors, and new tires on the kid's Timberjack for this weekend's NICA Race.

If you look at Henkel's literature, the various colors are coded for specifically sized fasteners (or, really, how firmly it fills the gaps), for approximately the same relative holding power. If you use a higher grade for something that is too small, destructive removal is pretty much the only solution. IIRC, in order of strength it is purple->green->blue->red. Red also adds the requirement for heat to break the bond on removal. Of course, you can remove a fastener that has had red loctite on it without heat, but you risk damage to the fastener head, the fastener threads, or the threaded hole/nut, in order of likelihood.

One thing I did learn this week was that red loctite can be dissolved with brake cleaner. Let it seep into where it's needed and a little while later it's like it wasn't ever there. Pretty darn cool. No heat required.

Finally got around to installing rear derailleur. X01 axs. I have a new cassette and chain on order from Hilltop so hopefully shifting will be better after that. I'm disappointed with the X01 currently but it could be that I did a crappy setup job. Even with the B almost all the way out it's still pretty far away from the largest cog. Maybe that will be diff with a 52T. Guess no matter what you put on it's only as good as the install, so I'm F-ed lol. I'm trying though.

They have a little tool for setting the B screw it works great its like $5 IIRC you got to make sure the B screw adjust tab stays against the tab on the hanger when you tighten the derailleur on too.

Thanks. Yeah, they changed the tool but it's included in the upgrade kit. Either I did something wrong or it just doesn't adjust far enough for a good fit with a 50T NX cassette but I have a 10-52T on order and I'm hoping that's the ti$ket. Or it's just me. Guess I'll find out.
