What have you done to your bike today?

Considered Frosty Woods but decided to call it for the race year so Evo mode for the 8.

Committed to the slammed life on my XC Epic Evo. This stem has a super short stack height so I wanted to at least have the option of a stem other than this one.

But I’ll probably cut it again after looking at it for a while. 😁

And I put my front fork lockout back on. I ride a bit of road and Columbia trail with this bike so it makes sense.

Wife has been complaining about the bike riding horribly. Oh, fork has 2000 miles on it... Realized I have the exact same fork that I rebuilt from my bike as a spare so I just swapped it on and can then re-do her fork whenever this winter.

My new Chisel so far I've done everything but the front wheel/tire/fork/headset/stem/dropper and the rear tire. Swapped everything else over from my old Tallboy except for installing a new Shimano BB.

What am I looking at with the bar? Also what size dropper?
That picture just looks weird. The bar is a carbon bar from my other bike. Picture is just at a weird angle where it looks like a hybrid bike bar.

Bike came with a TranzX 125mm dropper. It feels weird as I'm used to 180mm on my other bike but it's works really smoothly so I'm gonna leave it. It's got very minimal insertion at 2cm above the minimum.

Bike was just plain unsafe with 160mm rotors in the rear.

I’ve read all good things about the Chisel. It’s basically the same bike as my epic Evo but not carbon, right?

Yeap. Reasonable priced and very light frame.

Slightly (barely) different geometry and only 110mm rear travel.

If it was a fox shock I'd test out increasing the shock travel to get 120mm of travel but not easy with the Rockshox so I'll wait and see if others figure that out. Not that I'm looking for more travel in the rear.

Only complaint is the internal routing, swapping the rear brake line kind of sucked but that's the way it is these days.

After riding the pivot shadowcat most of the summer my 29er evil offering felt really high like sitting on a tall bar stool . Put it in x-low and dropped fork 10mm to 150 . Painted crown silver, did some mods to the ifp ramp up chamber and swapped back to stock expert damper. Also experimenting with some different oils .
