What have you done to your bike today?

Trying for something a little shorter termed TBH...I've been 'riding' the stationary bike since last October and it has got real boring real soon, but I can't seem to be able and break free of the domestic walls...

Haiku form please. We are moving backwards 1 decade.

Haven’t ridden Elphie since Catskills. Even had a rank change of clothes in the saddle bag still 🤮

Anywho. Stripped. Cleaned. Swapped wheels to the Alpinists and Michelins. New Silca fat tape because I’m old.

Need new olives and barbs for Rival hydro brakes. Can I use the older SRAM/Avid ones or do I need to buy the newer StealthamaJigs?View attachment 253736

They're identical, other than being held in the right place with threading. It's fiddly with a road brake that has the external stealthamajig, since you have to hold the body in place, push the hose in, and turn the flare nut. It's easier (and no different than any other manufacturer) on a flat-bar brake.

Don't they both have threading? The above are from my older Avid brakes, the red stealthamajig look a little different but also threaded

The silver Avid ones are not actually threaded and need to be pressed in with a tool. The red ones screw in with a little Torx. Either will work the new ones are just easier, and red, and not Avid so somehow that makes them even better.

Yes, on closer inspection they aren't threads. Regardless the diameter is much smaller than on the brake lever side. Think I'm missing a fitting which compresses the olive into the barrel shaped piece.

Oh dear, you have those dumb things in the line? Do yourself a favor and run a new hose. Those are just to save the people building the bike for sale a few minutes…
