What have you done to your bike today?

One of my last purchases before….. finally arrived. A set of Roost Ti 800x30 riser bars for the Domahidy (Ti SS bike).

Rode them today, they are exactly what I hoped they’d be.

Took apart my beloved Velo Orange and built a new frame with a tweaked geo to build the smoothest riding bikes I’ve ever owned.

I greased the crap out of the lever/spline interface of the DT RWS rear axle on my Hightower. I've been trying to figure out what was making such an extreme chain slap/rattling noise from the back of the bike and noticed that there's a lot of play in the lever (even when the axle is tight). The cap can be tightened using some snap ring pliers, but there's still a decent amount of play in it. Packed with grease for now to see if it at least partially resolves the noise, and then I'll probably pick up one of the Wolf Tooth or Wheels Manufacturing axles instead.

Also noticed that the rear wheel bearings on my road bike are shot after relatively few miles, so need to order some replacements. That bike never sees rain, is kept clean, but I don't do a full wash of it very often, so I'm a little surprised that they're already as bad as they are.

Used the cheap Amazon derailer alignment tool. Works perfectly. View attachment 211782
I adjusted it directly to the cassette.
Top Fuel never shifted better
Last month I got a blue one off Amazon. I was never impressed with GX-AXS over the NX-11spd it replaced. Well, after checking the deraileur hanger and a complete AXS reset, I am now VERY happy with GX-AXS!

Timely. I threw some new rubber on the back and notice a wobble, don't think it's from the tire either. I was looking at the Park home mechanic truing stand, but I'm leaning towards spending the extra for the powder coat version of what you have. Thoughts?
In my experience, a truing stand is something you hardly ever use. Go as cheap as possible.

I own a TS-2.2, and use it professionally. (and have used everything from a preciray to current day Parks).

He's right--for a homeowner, buy cheap. There is literally no benefit other than saying, "look what I've got."

You can usually find used TS-2s for ~$100-150 if you trawl ebay/craiglist/marketplace, and they are updateable to modern wheel sizes/tire sizes. Closing bike shops are another good place to shop, since when shops come through and buy out inventory, truing stands usually get left behind.
