What have you done to your bike today?

Burped my tubeless and couldn't get the tire to re-inflate so I had to put a tube in. I'm riding a 26er and discovered I only had a 29er tube in my pack! Fit surprisingly well but noticeably heavier. 😵

When my wife buys a new handbag, I get a new bike, that's how it works here. Trying to get as many configs and will spend most of this fall/winter weeding out what didn't work. Down to only one 26r, haha. Look for a fire sale this spring.

I bring lunch to work every day, pennies add up (or $10 a day, can save lots in a year)
Also just sold carbon and Ti 26rs to fund my two current builds, so really didn't spend much

that's a shitty diet on the long run, salad by the ounce in stupid expensive and my company doesn't really subsidize our cafeteria, should work somewhere which gives free lunch

Word!
Now you know why I am so out of gas during our rides. HA!
I once worked for a company that provided free lunch. I think its was like a $8 limit but that was 10yrs ago. It was nice.

Finally got around to taking the 2 year old worn Terra Pro tires off my IronCross wheel set and mount up a new pair of Clemente BOS mud tires in anticipation of rain at HPCX on Sunday. You can thank me now for making in not rain on Sunday.

Those BOS treads are YUGE!!!

FWIW, the tires are a nice tight fit, not tight enough to need soapy water, but tight enough that a standard pump got them seated first try on both. 2oz Stans in each, re inflated to 40psi, the Stans shake, and letting them sit overnight now.

New 2018 Fox 34 Fork with EVOL, rebuilt Fox shock & rebuilt Fox Transfer Post. After over 250 hours, it was way overdue (Fox recommend a build at 125 hrs). Fox did a crash replacement for the Fork because the rebound adjuster was frozen and I snapped the knob off trying to adjust it. Also did a free rebuild on the post because if failed their creep test, felt fine to me. Bike's got it's Mojo back!

Sweet!

My 2018 34 EVOL just came yesterday. I went up another 10mm to slightly slacken the HA on the TB2 so the 2017 34's going on my Domahidy HT.🙂

Changed the rear brake rotor. I've gotten a few branches stuck in the rear wheel/rotor lately.
Today I felt it dragging and making noise. I loosened up the caliper and backed off the brake adjustment a little and spun the wheel.
The caliper was doing the wobble wobble as the wheel went around. So I figured it was the rotor bent.
Picked up a new one at the LBS and installed it. Yup, that was it. I need all the power I can get, and I don't need a dragging brake.

Finally got a can of Framesaver for the steel bikes. In the distant past I've used linseed oil and WD40 on the inside of tubes, but never JPWeigle.
It seems to be in between the linseed and WD40 in terms of viscosity but needs a drying period (24 hrs) unlike the other products. You're also suppose to avoid getting it in the BB threads. So how do you treat the BB area which is one of areas of the bike most susceptible to rust? what about the seat tube area, droppers are sensitive to over tightening, wonder if the coat of Framesaver will cause an issue?

a can is good for 3-4 frames so some other frames will get a treatment after the TransAm

Did you already treat the frame with it? I got a can when I was building my Soma Smoothie. Then I got lazy and skipped it cause it looked like a PITA.

not yet, you should at least consider doing the rear stays which seem to be the biggest collection area for moisture
I'm surprised you skipped it as you're pretty good with doing things right
