What have you done to your bike today?

have a Whisky 9 fork and ran into a problem with the brake line routing
looks like I'll need to remove the hose, and likely trim the olive to have enough room for the routing
that seems like a real PITA, am I missing something?

I have the same fork. I swap it back and forth on the SS all the time. Nope, it's exactly what needs to happen. I mean you can zip tie it, but it looks like shit that way. That's why I bought an extra front brake and just installed it permanently on the fork. It was The logical choice as I needed to cut the hose to length anyway. Also saves a few seconds of aggravation not having to deal with the re- centering the calipers each time.

Dan, what tires/wheels you running with the rigid fork?
Mine is for 29+ but I'm looking to do the same as you and swap forks. You wouldn't happen to also be a plus guy too?
Non-boost forks for plus tires seem limited. I heard older Fox forks can fit a dirt wizard, which is as big as I need to go. Though my first choice are MRP Stages. But I'm starting to run dry in funds....

You can a Maxxis Chronicle listed at 3.0 (more like a 2.9) w/out issue on the whiskey.

I have a Nobby Nic 2.6 on there now on a 41 external 35+ internal rim. The 2.6 fits the whiskey with plenty of room, the sid WC works....but only at low pressure. Non boost as you know.

anyone ever work on MRP forks?
I heard they are easy to service without sending out
specifically the stages or loops
 
Decided to tackle some creaks. One I believe is from the sliding dropouts on my misfit so I greased the mating surfaces. Fingers crossed.

The other is my saddle which has creaked for literally 2+ years but has recently grown worse. I think it's time for a replacement! IIRC I bought this saddle some time around 2008.

The kicker is that I have a spare saddle somewhere in my possession and I can't find it after about an hour of searching. It's attached to a seatpost, so it's not like it can be hiding in a little box somewhere. It's one of those things I was tripping over all of the time, so I put it somewhere out of the way (but easy to find....right).

That may be part of it, so it'll for sure get a good clean and grease when I get myself a new ass plant.

This ^^^^^^^^^

If I push down on the center of the saddle it has a ridiculous amount of give, and it creaks where the rails meet the plastic. It's only a matter of time before I get saddle rails up the ass.

put some grease on those rails!
