Tymor Wrap-Up Thread

It's a plot for us to totally mess with your head! Muhahahah! It gets even better when you have to ride through our guys in the 19-29 and SS class 😀

Today I went into bonus overtime and caught one of your Bulldogs in the Pro class😱

Me and Nick beeped and waved to you on 287 but you were asleep:popcorn:

-Jim.

Veerland I have the most epic photo known to man of you ill upload it shortly

woke up feeling like i had a fever this morning with no ambition to race. game plan was to not get a mechanical, secure a podium spot, and take it easy. through the whole race i thought i was in third off the bat so i did what i planned and cruised around at a relaxed pace. unfortunately, it turned out i was actually a half minute behind third the whole race. at least this time it was my fault and not a mechanical one.

on the bright side, i got really muddy! the facilities had hot showers and a snack bar! and all my photos where of me on the ground!

Did you fall right in fron of one of my photographer's in to a tree by any chance ? I think so !

War stories- made some sweet passes in the singletrack on the first lap and had some stubborn older guys trying to knock elbows with this chump but they failed 😛 nice track, I had a great time today, it will be a long night to come.

First time racing SS, so the slop and big hill made it interesting. Legs got too cold waiting for the start so didn't want to work too well out of the gate. Then crashed in the river of mud on the second lap, nice swolen knee but didn't stop me playing soccer tonight.

Glad I was on the SS, took 2 minutes to clean my drivetrain 😀

3rd!

I finished 3rd. I ran Pythons for the first time, and I had some apprehension the night before. Read a bunch of mtbr reviews where all the peeps were screaming that this is the worst tire in the world for mud. I pinged both Ben and JimVee, who said I should just suck it up and race on 'em. So I did, running about 23psi. There is no ideal tire for this mess, but Pythons did really really well at that pressure. I even had a little fun sliding into turns.

The #1 guy finished 8 minutes ahead of everyone. The #2 guy I beat last time this time beat me pretty handily. So he's now my target :getsome:.

OMG I almost couldn't race since my rear brake was non functional after my pre-ride. Thanks to Dustin @ BIKEWAY who swapped my brake with a demo bike's I just made the start. I had a slippery fun. GREAT COURSE!

u needed a dirt bike :popcorn:today u would of done beter off:getsome: shooting it up

Got to bed around 12:45 and woke up at 4, didn't get any breakfast. Met Southerner, Chainsaw, and Dnap at rest stop and carpooled up.

We pulled in around 7:10, opened the doors and promptly slammed 'em shut! WTH with 30 degree difference between this place and Jersey:hmmm:

Started lap one pretty good, climbed first hill passing quite a few stallers. Was making good time and then I over-shifted passed lowest gear and got passed by about 6 people that were right on my tail. I was running with no low-limit screw since I am waiting for damn things to get in.

First lap was damn fun, though I started clipping trees with my wide handlebars (more to come). Rode the slop-fest section, what a blast! Was almost like skiing.

Second lap I kept clipping damn trees, ended up causing me to slide on my back, head-first down the hill right next to that concrete manhole at the waterfall. Almost at the bottom of the slide my pack got hooked and I flipped heels-over-head and stopped almost on the lower section. Luckily on climb back up I noticed that my GPS had busted it's mount and was just sitting there about half-way up. Black GPS in near black dirt was almost unnoticeable, luckily it was beeping due to auto-stop/start.

Got shook up a little bit and took a while to get focused again. Rode the mud-river down. :getsome:I love really technical down-hill sections, the roots just add to the fun:getsome: Up hill mud sections, were being one hell of a pain. My tires were solid mud and had no grip, I swear by the end of the second lap my bike weighed an additional 5-8 lbs.

All-in-all, wished I could have done better but I am happy with clocking a finish time instead of DNF.

Now I have a little over a month to do a lot of hill work to get legs in shape. Hopefully by next race I can break the 200lb barrier and make a better time. Now only another year to repeat this race and beat this year's time.

Had great travel companions, great camaraderie from MTBNJ folks at race, and a great time. Looking forward to repeating the experience, just with better time:popcorn: <- Had to throw in the obligatory popcorn.

that said it all for today right there more mud and water then i need to see😕

With the exeption of going in blind I had a good feeling before the race.😎 As the race went on and after I was miserable.:drooling:😡 I should have warmed up more. I was stuck behind some @$$**%!@!!! for about a mile the first lap😡. I must have said passing 13 times and everytime the guy wouldnt move an inch! Tryed to sneek by him in the brush and fell.😡 I was so pissed I flew up right behind him and screamed MOVE!!:2guns: and he moved off the trail:getsome: But in all the bitterness I came out in 2nd (only 3 people in my class)

Congrats to all those who raced and braved the slick roots & rocks!!

Right now the CAT3 gallery is done!! CAT2 will upload overnight, I'm off to bed!!! The link will direct you to my main H2H Race gallery, so you'll find all the categories & races in the same place.

Remember, all you have to do is put your bib number into the search box at the upper right of the gallery page. All images should be available for hi-res downloads. Email me if you have any special requests!! Thanks & enjoy!!

So much fun! I somehow bruised my right thigh pretty bad. There was a section where 2 idiots wouldn't get out of the way and I ended up endo into a log I think I must have struck it harder then I though. Mud mud and more mud but a ton of fun. Today I'll spent atleast an hour cleaning the bike back up for Allaire tuesday. Atleast I have a month to do hill repeats in prep for the next race!

Nice work Brandon, and thanks for cheering. Since Adam actually finished a race, we were in need of some support! 😀

There were lots of spills. I saw a couple of spectacular ones. Good that we pre-rode, otherwise I would have for sure had a slam on that long diagonal log in the beginning.

You've gotta remember that if you call out passing its a courtesy for the rider to move over for you. If you want it, you've got to take it. Find a spot and drop the hammer and get around em. That's why most times I don't even call it out, I just take the pass when I see it.

The up hill was stupid hard. The one down hill was like riding in penut butter. The pics of my bike will tell the rest. Great race though.
