I have a co-worker who's been on the verge of tears all day.

I have moved from disbelief to anger to numbness. My jaw hurts from grinding my teeth in anger and frustration today.

I started down that road myself, but then I consoled my self. One of my neighbors, who moved to New Mexico (cleaner than the old Mexico...) used to say after 'bad' elections that this is the greatest country in the world. Hopefully, we can survive this.

It reminds me of the movie "The Candidate", where in the last scene Robert Redford has just been elected in a chaotic, corrupt, mega upset. He says to his campaign manager: "Now what? What do I do now?" I guess we are all going to find out.

Hit the trails, pals.

As an extreme moderate, I could never understand this mentality. You have pre-determined that whatever Trump is going to do will destroy the country. The mentality "my opinion is right, and if you think different, you are an asshole" is something that makes me believe anyone who is to either extreme with no room to compromise is the true asshole.

@soundz I will only speak for myself... I have a right to be angry at the outcome. I have a right to believe the wrong person was elected. I have right to be upset and worried over things like where the newly elected government stands on issues I find important. I do think Trump is an asshole. But I understand why people voted for him. They wanted change. Just like I do. We just viewed it differently.

Sadly, this would have been true no matter who was elected. I'm still shocked that he actually won, but they were both such bad choices. She is the devil we know, who knows what the devil we don't know is gonna be like. Whatev's.

The crooked swamp was primarily in the whitehouse, and in the candidate that thought she was going to be coronated as the next occupant.
Well it will be. A little advice, watch CSPAN some time. To be honest, my wife is rich. She(we) are going to get richer with the GOP in power. If you are not rich, you are just fuct at this point. The GOP is the party of the rich for the rich. If you are not rich, shut up and pay your taxes cuz we don't. Later suckers.😀

As anticipated, emotions and reactions are normally going to be higher and stronger after results are in.

If it went the other way I would expect the same thing.

I'm sure we all want succes for the next 4 years.

Let's be fair and open minded to all reactions.

Haha if you really are "rich" I'm sure you did fine the last 8 years. I know I did. it doesn't matter who's "in power", that's just leftist hokum

Everyone does well with the dems, GOP moves money from the other classes into the bank accounts of the rich. Yes, I am rich but I kinda like the planet so I vote democratic.

Don't worry, guys.

Just finished a yoga class and am about to cuddle with the cat.

I'll come down off the ledge eventually... Just need a little time...

Good night, MTBNJ-ers.

You're either getting richer or poorer but that decision is up to each of us because we have a choice which is the whole point. And the definition of rich is different for everyone.

Say it to my face

Asia is up HUGE, more than making up for last night'$ bloodbath.

Could be time for a new bike.

Update:. Europe up @ least 100bp. (That's 1%) Glad to see more short term evidence that I am wrong. In fact, if this keeps up, we're talking CRABON!

My concern is more for (1) the people who think that they can sit back and our President is going to save them, (2) the poor, (3) women (they can be NASTY and may hold a grudge for a long time) and (4) my children and yours who will have to pay for this.

Now you can b@n me. As Ben Weasel says as the last line of the song "Racist Society": Good Luck!

46 pages. It's like Threadzilla.

I think Canada is a bit cold as a place to live part of the year. I ran into 4 guys from town at my local, and they were discussing moving there. I was flogging the Negril, Jamaica scene.

One of our common breaux's who now lives in NM and I went there with our families as part of a group of 20. Great vacation, but the resort was guarded by a guy with a 9mm on the beach and another at the gate. They ain't playing.

I am staying in my country to see what happens.

I haven't read this whole thread... And it's probably prudent I wait to do so based on how angry I've been...

But I'd like to know how many women participated in this discussion. Any thread on MTBNJ is heavily dominated by men and I'm not expecting any less on this thread, but I am curious.

My personal view is that Donald never thought this through. I don't believe he really wanted to win or he would have been more prepared. I do think he is a spoiled brat that is as close to evil as we will ever see. (Hillary is no princes, but her experience counts for something)

Yesterday morning as I dropped my kid off at school, I saw women sobbing and I questioned if indeed they had right to be so upset. Truly, does it matter to our lives that much who is in power?? The system is the system, right??

We just don't know how he will play any of this. He is completely inexperienced and that alone is a point of concern. Quite literally any first term senator from anywhere would be more experienced.

The shining light here is as someone who has no experience, he may spot the flaws in the system and fight against them. He has spoken against lifetime politicians and said he would make sure term limits are put in place. I hope he keeps his word.

At any rate, this has become a flaming car wreck that we can't help but slow down to watch.

I'm hopeful that he finds a "terrific" panel of advisors and he doesn't just "fire" them when they butt heads.

I really do hope that America is made great again, the question is to whom it becomes great or greater for. I don't think it is possible for anyone to make such a push in one term, but maybe he'll be so great that he gets two chances?

I did note that last night I re-upped my insurance on the exchange and it came out to be 300 less a month for the same coverage. I guess it is already becoming great again??

There has never been a more apt time for this:
