I haven't read this whole thread... And it's probably prudent I wait to do so based on how angry I've been...

But I'd like to know how many women participated in this discussion. Any thread on MTBNJ is heavily dominated by men and I'm not expecting any less on this thread, but I am curious.

My personal view is that Donald never thought this through. I don't believe he really wanted to win or he would have been more prepared. I do think he is a spoiled brat that is as close to evil as we will ever see. (Hillary is no princes, but her experience counts for something)

Truly, does it matter to our lives that much who is in power?? The system is the system, right??

We just don't know how he will play any of this. He is completely inexperienced and that alone is a point of concern. Quite literally any first term senator from anywhere would be more experienced.

I really do hope that America is made great again, the question is to whom it becomes great or greater for. I don't think it is possible for anyone to make such a push in one term, but maybe he'll be so great that he gets two chances?

I did note that last night I re-upped my insurance on the exchange and it came out to be 300 less a month for the same coverage. I guess it is already becoming great again??

There has never been a more apt time for this:

I agree with all of this. However, when I showed up @ the golf pro shop Wednesday, the credit card machine was down so we had to fork over $. My first thought was that economic collapse would soon follow. I forgot about that after my first par of the day.

He is our President and we all must support him and I hope to Hades (where my world HQ is located) that he succeeds beyond all of our wildest dreams.

God Bless America, THE Greatest Country in the solar system.

The real question that should be asked is Canada going to have to build a wall to keep Americans out?
Make America great again=sorry ladies, you are not smart enough to control your bodies. Make America great again=you non rich people better stfu and do what we say for what we want to pay you or our police will shoot you.

You guys are soooo owned.

That is bullshit. How many people actually moved to Canada because Bush was elected?

Will we see Ruth Ginsburg moving to New Zealand anytime soon? I doubt

Both sides are about control, telling you what you can do, what you can ingest, who you have to support.

I really could have gone either way. I'm sure my life won't change very much just like every other election. I'm so confident in the future I ordered a orange fat bike yesterday. I say take advantage of all the new opportunities moving forward and get on board with the country's decision.

Haha yes even the nitwit celebrities that said they are leaving if Trump won (and they can actually afford to live anywhere they want) are now saying they were kidding. Alec Baldwin and Streisand have made this claim multiple times and they are still here!

I work in a field where our primary business is with overseas manufacturers. I worry about increased cost of living. Obviously, there are US manufacturers but in my field, cost wise, they cannot compete with their counter parts in Asia.

Did Trump say 35% duty on "certain" overseas goods? American jobs matters and is important, but at what cost? It's kinda like wanting to support you LBS but for the blue collar guys, price consideration plays a significant factor in their decision. Luckily, with our hobby, we can take the hit, but with Trump, it everday goods. I sincerely hope that I am missing something and I am all wrong in my assumptions.

I can't wait to see how he forces Apple to make their products in the US.
With Apple and such... you could say they are "luxury" goods. But I am taking about clothes and such. Take a look at the label on your shirt... most is made in asia.

Yeah, pretty much everything we buy is made in Asia. Trump specifically called out Apple and said he was going to force them to make their damn computers in the US. The reality is that he won't/can't do most of the things he said he would. This isn't really any different than any other candidate making promises they can't keep; his are just a bit more outlandish than the rest.

I hope youre right but with a Republican congress.... makes you worry.

Looks like the "Mainstream Media's" PR machine is out in force trying to create a scapegoat to justify the results. In their "expert" analysis its Johnson's fault. Johnson's fault? Really? That's a pretty hard sell being that the third party candidate (third party by its very definition is anti political status quo) pulled votes away from the only established candidate?!?! The fact is, there was enough disgust with the establishment that a "D List" pseudo celebrity won over the career "********" (fill in the blank based on your own political leanings). My hope is that future candidates (from BOTH sides) will be, hmm how do I put this? Well, in a word.... More.

Yesterday morning as I dropped my kid off at school, I saw women sobbing and I questioned if indeed they had right to be so upset. Truly, does it matter to our lives that much who is in power?? The system is the system, right??

We just don't know how he will play any of this. He is completely inexperienced and that alone is a point of concern. Quite literally any first term senator from anywhere would be more experienced.

The shining light here is as someone who has no experience, he may spot the flaws in the system and fight against them. He has spoken against lifetime politicians and said he would make sure term limits are put in place. I hope he keeps his word.

At any rate, this has become a flaming car wreck that we can't help but slow down to watch.

I'm hopeful that he finds a "terrific" panel of advisors and he doesn't just "fire" them when they butt heads.

As close to evil as we will ever see? Seriously? What the fuck do you think is going to happen? Concentration camps, gulags? I think you need to go back to school, study your history, also maybe visit some other parts of the world. I think the spoiled brats are everyone in the their prayer circles, vigils, curled up in the corner crying, setting fires, and protesting. Look at where you live, and the lifestyle that you live. There are people in other parts of the world that will literally sell their children (some do) to have a quarter of what we have here. Holy shit what a bunch of babies. All of you need to go back an listen to President Obama's speech from election night. Not his biggest fan, but he nailed it.

As an extreme moderate, I could never understand this mentality. You have pre-determined that whatever Trump is going to do will destroy the country. The mentality "my opinion is right, and if you think different, you are an asshole" is something that makes me believe anyone who is to either extreme with no room to compromise is the true asshole.

Best post in 47 pages, right here. You win the internet for not one, but TWO days! Now I'm going to ride while you all continue arguing.

I try to avoid hyperbole about this stuff because my Grandparents spent a good portion of time in Concentration camps. That said, it's hard and expensive to deport millions of people at once . But if the people who voted for you expect action, it may be fiscally prudent to transfer the immigrants first to relocation camps while waiting to be deported. The conditions may not be great, but hey, it's better than where they are from, right? Of course we won't call them concentration camps and we won't intentionally kill anyone, but history will draw parallels.

I'm not saying that will definitely happen, but it's certainly a feasible scenario.
