Come on up to Sussex Co. We got 27" here in Andover and there was already 13" on the ground from the last storm.

Where did all the snow fall???? Here in ocean county the snow from last thursday/friday is gone. The weather reported that atlantic city got 7.6 inches. I was there on friday and there was nothing!!! Even my gf's house in howell nj has only a few inches. Did the weather report lie about the amounts? I dont see even half of what they reported.

does this mean wharton is ridable?

Wow. I went to the office today in Basking Ridge and 'was stunned to see how little snow there was on the ground compared to up here in the northern tip of Morris county.

I might have to think about actually *driving* a distance to go mountain biking and head south here soon...

Seems like we (de - up to nnj) got the grunt of the snow on the east coast. I was in Richmond yesterday and they had no snow to speak of. I was talking to someone @ a company in mass. today and they said they have no snow and have been riding for a week.

A couple customer have attempted rides around here over the past few days and got 2 minutes in before they turned around. Looks like tommorrow will be another day on the road bike. . .

We are in Manahawkin, and although we are experiencing a melt, there is still a ton of snow in th woods from the last big storm. The places that are free of snow are under water. We got several inches of rain from the first storm last week and then about 6 inches of snow.

That is the long answer, the short would be probably not.

I rode around Double trouble park today in ocean county. Its about 75% dirt and 25% snow. A lil mushy but not muddy at all. Snow is easy to get over since its and inch of packed down stuff. If anyone wants to ride that bad id definatly give it the green light. Although tomorrows rain will make it mud im sure. So sat and sun would be fine to ride there im willing to bet.

Kurt won't let us ride Wharton,he's being mean!! LOL
This was his reply to my thread

There is still snow on the ground, a lot of water flowing from the thaw and soft trail conditions. Please give it several more days to drain before riding the bicycle singletrack.

I try to take survey of what the dirt looks like off the road when I am out on the road bike. I can say for sure that mercer is an absolute no-go. Clayton may be one of the first places that is rideable, but I havent been past there lately. Rode past baldplate and sourlands today, and there was 12"+ deep rivers of water running down the digouts on the roadsides. I think a place like wissahickon would have the best chance of thawing and draining right now. Then we have to hope and pray for a good freeze.

Mahlon is a concrete skatepark. If it refreezes tonite it will hold a bike til maybe 10am.Start early (although parking will be a prob). Also to the FR crew and photographers.......... If you scope somethin out today and hit it early tommorrow somewhere in the rigdes and outcroppings by the wall and stonegate area i guarantee there is a cover shot. Maybe Shaggz and Fogey can keep yall up to date on the overnite temps. You'll need sub 30' for at least a few hrs. Good luck:popcorn:

Concrete skatepark...Perfect description! Same thing at RV this morning. Kicked ASS! But started to soften in the sunny areas around 8am.

Brett, I was thinking the same thing as I walked across my yard this AM and the snow supported my fat ass.

It should get below 30 tonight up here...so maybe there is a shot to give the Nokians a try tomorrow AM...

Do it! But bag the Nokians. There's plenty of texture and traction on the surface. Just mount up the fattest tire in your arsenal at like 10 psi and blast off before the evil sun rises! :2guns:
