is that a cannondale flash F1 next to your bike?
that looks like stupid snow

Jeez that's just nuts. I think it's got to be about 3 inches left in these parts already. I don't think I've seen snow ever melt this fast. I'd say by Monday we'll start seeing glimpses of very wet earth.

I drove through Bridgewater today and noticed that there was significantly less snow. I started thinking of a possible CR ride tomorrow but I'm guessing it will be a total slop fest.....

Some of the trails closest to the newman's lot (lower red, lower blue, white) should be decent if you get there super early while it is still frozen (temps down to 27F tonight). After 9am, slop fest.

this gives me some hope .. on the sides of my driveway, the snow mounds are over 6ft .. i was assuming it was same everywhere

CR is going to take a while. With the warm weather and rainy snow Thursday and Friday, they got the ground pretty good. I would say after all the snow is melted away, probably by at least Thursday of this week, we should be back on track for some early morning ride. Temps in the 40s all week. 😀

Let me clarify...

CR also has 6ft snow mounds in the parking lots, and all trails are totally snow covered. A few of the trails are packed down by lots of foot traffic, so they are rideable when its cold enough. Gonna take a long time for the snow to melt, and a LOOONG time for the trails to dry out after that. Best you can hope for in the short term is very cold temps to make it all solid. Early morning is indeed your best chance for that. All turns to mush as soon as the sun hits it and temps rise.

Did a little exploratory ride this morning with the dog. As expected, lower red was rideable. Some parts of white and blue are also rideable. Fun stuff if you're into torturous over-exertion and making the best of what you've got! :getsome:

Absolutley no way , never, not in a million years!! Are you joking?????????

Wurd...if it is anything like it is up by MDR, it ain't happening. Walked out into the yard this AM to see how far I'd still sink--just above my knees.

Lots of settling/melting/freezin' to take place before it is worth takin' a shot at w/a bike.

Snowmobiles were out at Ringwood by late afternoon. My guess is that if you were desperate enough, you could ride some of the roads on the 'biler tracks. Everywhere else is 2-3 feet winter-wonderland.

The canal was unrideable this afternoon. The snow was really wet and you just couldn't pedal. Friday the snow was 4 times deeper and completely passable.

Wawayanda

You might be able to ride the trails by the Spring Cleaning race...36+ inches of snow with some real nice drifts.

I live about 15 miles away and I can see my grass in spots. SOOOOO I was hoping. Maybe next week. Stupid road bike.😡

If 27" of snow at deer park melts between today and next week please stay off of the trails. It will be a complete mud bog. Unless we get some deep freezes most areaS will not be rideable for weeks if not longer. Ride the road for base miles.

Where did all the snow fall???? Here in ocean county the snow from last thursday/friday is gone. The weather reported that atlantic city got 7.6 inches. I was there on friday and there was nothing!!! Even my gf's house in howell nj has only a few inches. Did the weather report lie about the amounts? I dont see even half of what they reported.
